we have been runin from bout 10 at nite till bout 4 in the morring....and tryin to cut some young dogs lose behind the house of the morring and nite time....its 101 here right now....to hot to do anything

i have a dog here,the casey son i got from jared maccalister,carn warned me that he climbs out of kennels,well he was right,i put sections of kennel over top of his run to keep him in,well last night he tore a hole through into the other side and climbed up and out,i heard him runnin up in the hills this mornin,but too hot to go chase him so i figured he would just come back,about 15 minutes ago,i walked outside and heard him out by my truck doin the same thing rowdy did the other night,but this dog was worse,took him around back and ran the water hose over his lgs to cool him down,that was a trick i learned in football,run cold water over your forearm area by your main artery,cools the blood down and then cools the body down,he drank water but opuked it up as soon as he drank it,but is ok now...........i don't care how good of dogs anyone has........they are still animales and they are all the same.........maybe mine are not as tough =as some others but that is two dogs in three days overheated,toltaly different bloodlines,.........................if you are gonna run em,take it easy on them..........they are not robots.i lost one last year runnin in this heat,dont wanna loose anymore.

the weather chanel said the portsmouth area was 95 degrees,my thermometer outside says 101.

i ran a few hounds for a few hours last night it was around 100 when i started and still in the 90s when i quit they handled it pretty good imho..
i will run a different batch tonight for a couple hours...watch your yurbo stuff guys cause in my experience they are the worst to take heat damage from what i have seen...good luck and be carefull

I run dogs near a pond they have plenty of water to get in..AND THEY DO.
I was taught years of go when i was a weedhopper that in order to excel with dogs they had to do 2 things.1.run stepping on there tongues.2. show pure grit. You are right dogs can be damaged but they can also be trained.
Do you think our families in iraq like living in 110 120 degree temps with constant threat of death? They also are kids that probaly grew up with baseball and football and playstations. They have adapted quite well to the conditions. I have ran dogs when most stay home whether it be 100 or -10. I also fill like in order for men too credit the line they run they must be made to run hunt and track in conditions they do not normally run in. The ledgends we all bred too probaly were not ran on perfect days.
I was once told kingwoods shorty was sold in england to a big time fox hunter for 10 grand. pretty impressive. I also heard he was one of the gritiest hounds to hold breath in. Thats all i needed to know. As far as the threats are concerned i would greatly appreciate you dont know me eiether my friend . After you bitched for 4 months about the world hunt then tried to get me to come too the dark side and hang out. It aint happening we are 2 totally differnt people with a love for dogs . I aint chad or brad they chose too hang , ol jimbo rides alone. Of course i got some good friends but they can take me ridin there ass. So if i insulted you then my bad , as far as seeing me at a hunt i dont do small hunts i run dogs and show up for big hunts danny. However i do have a few dogs that need to be qualified so i will be at at least 1. If you still wanna beat me up find me. But i will tell you this danny i would just probaly stay clear of me , i never have been real stable type of a fella. Jail i guess does that to ya. Once again sorry i called ya a bad name . As far as the arha, who cares i been kicked out of better places i just got some pretty good ol buddies thats why i go anywho.

no one threatened to beat you up,i like goin to hunts and havin fun,not havin to look over my shoulder worrying if someone i called a bad name or disrespected on the board is gonna be there,i try to get along with everyone,just as chad,brad,jeff brown and many others have said,i am a good guy once you get to know me,i dont want you to come to the "darkside" s you put it,i just try to get along with everyone,in a earlier post you asked me why i chose you to give a hard time....if you would stop and realize as many have amd just like here,you jumped the gun and chose to argue,and call me direspectful names,i have never disrespected you,sure i have my own opinion of the world hunt,as do many,many others,but the facts are the facts,and it is over,i have accepted it and let it go,yet you have not.like with the post callin reggie out,and braggin up junie,man,you have a nice dog,you have done something very few have or will ever do,you won a world hunt,enjoy it,why call dogs out,you should have nothing to prove to anyone out here,i believe,you want to prove something to yourself

Boys iam with jim on this one. I think a dog should get it done no matter what the conditions,if not you should cull it. if we all breed to better the breed and not just for feild champions conditions would not be a factor.A dog should get it done everday not just saturday's.

I learned my lesson about running in this stuff. I figgure if a dog doesn't have the grit, you won't have to worry about it getting too hot because it will just quit. I guess if it's conditioned to run in this stuff, run away. I haven't been into the dogs as long as alot of you guys but I learn from my lessons.

i would never cull a dog cause it can't run at its best in 101 temps.........it is all about conditioning,people that had their dogs in shape before the heat wave hit can do better in these conditions than dogs that are out of shape,but that does not make a reson to cull them,but,everyone has their opinion.
