Thunder pup
I have a 11 month old female out of Pete's Turbo Charged Thunder Blue x Branko's Sassy Susie and she is the real deal!
She is very fast, has a ton of hunt and is quick to grab a check and fire on out.I have run her with some pretty stout grown dogs and she hasn't had to back down abit.
This is my first experience with a Turbo bred dog but have been following the Ninja stuff [ bottom of Thunder,Reggie,Blueman pedigree] for a long time.I'd say that the combination of traits has worked out well and that the above three brothers are able to pass their good charecteristics along.

My suggestion? Call Don Hoog and ask who he would recommend. Better yet, ask him who’s he breeding to. You’ll get your answer then.
One more point. If you have seen Reggie’s ad, you saw where Don is quoted as saying “Reggie is putting a lot of Turbo’s characteristics in his pups.” I asked Don about this quote and he said he meant every word of it. That was enough for me.
I'm not saying anything bad about Jasper. I know very little about him and his offspring. We own a full brother to him though who is just 18 points shy of making an AKC FC and we still bred to Reggie.
Just my opinion.

Hey chief. I respect your opinion very much. I don't understand though, if you got a full brother to jasper(that I know you do) why would you go else where. Do you not like the hound you have that is almost field champion. He seemed pretty nice in missippi. I would own him. If you had a brother to jasper, it just makes you dog look better if people are beeding to him. I am not saying Reggie isn't the real deal because he is. He is going to be one of the best turbo dogs of all time. Jasper has not had near the trial expirence as reggie. You give Jasper, to Kevin Monroe and he wins just as fast and as many big hunts as reggie. I personally have seen both run and think jasper is the better dog. He won't ever get the respect he needs because he won't be ran as much a Reggie. Reggie was soloed before the world so many hours it was not even funny. I my opinion, do the same for jasper you have the same results.

Not all dogs can produce the same as what they are themselves. Blue is not yet proven and reggie has proven to be able to produce. Besides I also want Blue Ninja in my bloodline. We will breed Blue more when the time is right and he becomes FC. We have a few pups out of him and they look good so far but we have yet to breed him to a proven female, which we will be doing in late summer. This is the female we bred Reggie to. This female also has two dogs in canada that are placing. We bred her to Mystery Man and both males we kept started in less than 2 weeks.

Jasper's problem is not that he does not get run enough now because I know how much he is ran. What happened to Jasper is that after he won the world he was laid up and did not get ran hardly at all until he was sold some 2 1/2 or 3 years later. After he won the world he was not entered into another trial until this past winter. From what I understand Jasper was only entered in three hunts while Lloyd Gray owned him. He was in one ARHA club hunt and won it to qualify for the world, he then won the world, and was entered in one UKC hunt and won it. I don't think it is fair to compare the two dogs based on trial results because both have very good track records. But I feel that you can not go wrong with either dog. Better yet why not breed to one now and the other later?
Frankly both dogs were bred to be good or great hounds. Both dogs have been succesful. Reggie crossed the line and has done well in both ARHA and AKC. While Jasper rocketed to the top in ARHA in a short time. I do not think anyone would be hurt breeding to either of these hounds. I dont buy that Reggie "won" because he had help. Too many judges and too many different formats.
I have a friend Greg Brown who has a Jasper/ Blueback Male that I offered $1,000.00 for and he just laughed. The hound just wears other dogs down and he does it with an easy grace. I own a female out of Reggie and a Haunted Hill Shaker Bitch. So I respect both hounds.
In the long run I would bet they will both end up in the Hall of Fame for reproducing.

I don't think that reggie had any judge help, because he don't need any. He is a great dog with a great owner. also don't forget that Jasper was hit by a car 3 weeks before the world. Lloyd said he won that hunt on desire. I agree you can't go wrong breeding to either hound. What size pups is Reggie mostly throwing? Jasper throws big hounds and I like big hounds. Also please tell me who owns jasper becauseI would like to breed my two females thar are coming in soon. Thanks JEREMY

Thanks for the good words guys. I really don't think you are going to go wrong with any of the males mentioned. I think the key is matching the female up to the right one of these males. These males all have their strong suits and may offer more to one female than it would to another. We can choose based on pedigree and accomplishment all day and not match the right male to the right female. It's all a crap shoot any way, but I think you can load the dice a little with matching qualities along with bloodlines. Any one interested in breeding to Thunder is welcome to come watch him run and some of his off spring run and see if he is offering what your female needs. He is in New York for the summer but will be back here in Kentucky late this summer. We like what we are seeing so far. I have never seen a Jasper dog run, but I have seen some of Reggie's pups run. He is definitely producing some good hounds. I'm sure Kevin would be willing to breed him to any good female. Good Luck.

what I'm interested in, and haven't seen much feedback on, is which one of these hounds have the gears to walk a track out on a bad day..or in the really thick stuff. The biggest complaint from the gun-hunting crowd(they call themselves the ultimate trialers), is most of the Turbo stuff is too hit and miss for actual hunting. They are super dogs when the terrain is more open and scenting conditions are good...which dog is better under adverse conditions..???
I like what Greensprings Kennel said, that is the kind of hound i'm looking for, one that can run in extreme conditions with brains more than just hittin hard and looking flashy in well scent conditions in a pack. I like a hound that runs up front in a pack but not if it's blowin up every twenty feet.I've never seen either of these hounds run but like to know if they fit this description.

There are a lot of good Turbo males around. John Queen has a male that is an ARHA Grand Champion that is a nice hound. I have run with him a lot and he is a good jump dog and gets a lot of checks.
As I said before, I have run with Jasper, and anyone would be glad to have him along on a hunting trip.
I have heard many good things about Reggie from friends that have judged him and run against him.
I think the real question shouldn't be which Turbo dog, but what traits do Turbo dogs throw, and are they what you need in your breeding program.
