What stud dog would you want a pup from?

Here are a few trials that I have found that Pro dogs have placed in.
Elkhart County, Oct. 12-13, 2002 15 inch bitches, Short's Black Nell, 1st place, owned by Gary Voigt
Imperial Beagle Club, Oct 12-13. 13 inch bitches, Choptalk Ravishing Reba, 2nd place, owned by Joe Nell. There was also a 3rd and a 4th in the 15 inch bitches.
Lake City, May 19th, 15 inch dogs, Brown's LA Dark Little Mike, 2nd place, owned by Gary Brown
Southwestern Ohio, April 13-14, 2002, 15 inch bitches, Ted's On-Line Shania, 2nd place, owned by Teddy W. Adkins
Okaw Valley, April 27-28, 2002, 13 inch bitches, Pro Lexer 2, 2nd place, owned by Mitchell Marlow....15 inch bitches, Pro Liner 2, 1st place, owned by Mitchell Marlow.....15 inch bitches, Gass' Liza Jane, 2nd place, owned by Joe Gass

When I first said midwest SPO I did mean midwest as far as geographically. I did think Pro dogs have placed in the Midwest Association. I thought Southwestern Ohio was part of that association. After checking I see I was wrong. I don't trial, just hunt, although I watch the results to see what dogs are producing, so I should have checked before replying this morning.

Just so you know I'm not trying to sound like I'm arguing with you. Number one, I was never trying to manipulate the public and to me that sounds like you were politely calling me a liar. I never have liked being called a liar, and still don't! As far as I'm concerned your word should be your bond!
Number two, you state that the dogs you are talking about are rougher. I don't know what you call rough, but I call rough cheating the line, swinging, overrunning the line,etc. If that is the case, I don't call that a fast hound I call that a faulty hound. Not that I'm trying to offend anyone in that association, I've never seen their hounds run. With that said, I still stand by what I said, they are fast hounds that are not rough, and run the line with very good control.
Finally, I almost never posted on this particular thread in the first place because of the very thing that has happened. I started reading and posting here because even after 25 years of raising, training, and hunting beagles I thought I could learn something....and maybe help someone else just getting started that had some questions. Now I find myself defending my integrity, etc. This is the same reason I just hunt instead of trial. Went to watch a few just to see what it was about. Seems all I heard was people putting other peoples hounds down. I am glad others tolerate it though, because it does help the breed.
Sorry folks if this became a book! But seeing as this is my last post on the subject....and maybe my last post period....I just got carried away. Think I'll just go back to running my hounds, slow, ever so slow as this bloodline must be

Sir I apologize if I've offended you or anyone else. Those that post here that know me, know that I'm not the type to call people liars. And If I did I wouldn't beat around the bush to do so. And I certianly don't post on these sites to try to start trouble on these boards. Like you I try to help people out when I can. It's just that I thought you were confused in your statements and wanted to see what your proof was. Had you shown me a Midwest trial that Pro hounds had placed at I'd apologized to you and admitted my error.
Your integerity isn't to be defended. Confusion is just an honest mistake and I don't think anyone would criticize you over such. The reason I questioned you is because I'd hated for the original poster to have bought a Pro hound and tried to trial it in the Midwest Association. He or she wouldn't have been very successful.
After this post, I see no further need for me to comment in this thread. I sent you a private message apologizing and trying to explain myself further. I hope you hold no ill feelings towards myself nor anyone else that questioned your statements. If anyone would like my opinion on producing Midwest Association studs, feel free to email me. I'd be happy to answer your questions the best I can or point you to someone that can.
In closing, once again I'll state Pro probably is a fine hound and it's obvious he's producing hounds that are placing and finishing. However with that being said, I honestly don't think he's producing fast hounds(whether you consider ours faulty or not). At the swiftest, medium speed at the most is what I'd say he's producing or at least that's how a friend of mine classifies the Pro 15" female that he has that's close to finishing.

I would love to have a hound directly out of several now dead dogs like....
FC Luci Van Little Man, FC Wright's Shake, FC Del Ray Stubby, CHB Deer Park Spike, CHB Chapman's Buzz Bomb......If I had to choose just one, it would no doubt be FC Wright's Shake.
I am soon hopefully breeding to a dog I have wanted to breed to for a long time...FC & CHB Timber Chopper Clyde. Clyde is line-bred FC Wright's Shake stuff......Cant wait!

i think i would look real hard at syris mcgee,he is the hound of all hounds in my book! his record should speak for itself! he is a champion in 3 different registries ,akc , ukc , nkc , ive seen the pups he throws and they show a lot of promise . his pups are very smart and start very early and have the speed they need to be very competetive trial dogs in whichever format you choose to run in and make exelent hunting hounds.so if you do your homework im sure youll see that breeding to sy or buying a pup out of sy really be the only logical choice!and just so you dont think im blowing smoke ill let you know that i own 2 sy pups myself and soon to be 3! thats how much i believe in this hound and what he has done for my kennel and what he could do for yours. happy hunting
