My five month old pup is really starting to turn it on!

I got permission to rabbit hunt 126 acre farm yesterday with my hounds!

My best little bitch scratched her cornea running last week :( , but the vet said yesterday that it is looking better! :D

Go hug a loved one or hang out with your hounds and you'll forget about the silly little things that get you down.

;) DRamey,
Now that is a great story to hear in the morning. Got a smile on my face. From the mouth of Babes!

Negative:
Our car insurance went up to 177.00 I called them they got my speeding ticket on there, OOPS but they didnt have my husbands new truck carried over on the policy.... Now we are up to 214.00 a month.....Due Christmas day.

Positive:
Got another quote yesterday at 168.00 a month. Guess we will be switching.

Negative:
Still have the skirting to finish around my training pen. Almost out of the wire. Still have another 130 of my feet to go. Hope the snow and cold holds off some more.

Positive:
Got my birthing pen finished last weekend. And even though I need 130 ft of fencing, (my feet are small) LOL. The weather is supposed to be 45 today. Yahooo.

Negative:
My daughter was at her five year check up, wanted her to see an eye specialist. Her vision was 20/80!!!! I felt terrible. No wonder all deer were purple to her all this time. Doc said it most likely would not correct.

Positive:
Took her for her five month check yesterday and her vision is now 20/25. Doc said it is remarkable. Waited an hour past her appointment time, but it was worth it. Will lower her script in six months. She is now almost seven.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes its not just having a bad day, or week, or month, sometimes it is a whole year! The older I get I realize I need to count my blessings. What is here today may be gone tomorrow. Live every day like it is your last. Ive learned to treat others with the same kindness and respect that I wish to get. Sometimes you need to hear a story like DRameys to remember. Slow down and enjoy the little things. :)

Herald, I think everyone knows you were just trying to lighten things up a bit and you're not a manic depressant, LOL! :D Although some of these responses have been great for all of us! :)

Here's some good news....Our rabbit season opened today. I hunted 1/2 day with a good friend. He brought 2 hounds and I brought 2, both of my oldest females. We had a great time, had plenty of laughs, some great hound work and actually dusted a few bunnies! And my Patch female ~smoked~ everything else down...every rabbit she gradually pulled away from the pack, puttin the mojo on those bunnies {{smiling REAL big}}! Bad news...gun deer season starts Monday for 3 weeks....one day of rabbit hunting and now havta wait 3 weeks until I can go again. I'm not putting my hounds down here until the deer season is over :(

He's coming....are you ready?

DarrinG, if I only had three weeks of gun season I would jump up and down and clap my hands with joy.Gun season here is two months with an extra week in my county for doe only then another week for black powder. The doe and black powder don't bother me too much though as not many hunt those two weeks. It is bow and gun season that gives me cabin fever LOL.Counting bow season the total is from the first of Oct to the first of Jan.Best time of the year for a hound man but we sit at home,at least we have the rest of the year, except for spring turkey season, to run the hounds.Boy if I could talk them into having deer season in July and August I would be the happiest camper in the state LOL.

 I got up this morning and went with my daughter to take my grandson to get his xmas picture made. He got to drive his first corvette. AND, don't have to worry about DUI"S, speeding, girls in the back seat, or accidents in this one. ;)

Image

Then, I got home in time to run a young gyp on some cottontails and she did real good. :approve:

Then, I came I got to go sit in my deer stand until dark. Saw 7 skin heads. :D

Doesn't get much better than this!!!

I have been working all the daylight hours so I took my two blueticks out at 8:00 last night I was feelling sorry for them and me.I got to listen to them run a rabbit on a clear starlit night breathing heady draughts of rainwashed air.I would put these 2 girls up against any other dog in the country for producing rabbits, accounting for them and doing it again. They are both mouthy and the one I dared enter in a LP trial was picked up twice for that.....so they will never win me any $5 trophies or name in "The Book".But after reading some of the juvinile posts from trialers why do I need their admiration or approval. You cant buy the grin on my face last night or the pride I felt when I went out to get them this morning 12 hours later and they were still running strong.
