My fiancé is my best friend, she knows how important it is for me to be able to keep and run dogs. She loves field trials as well and loves to work in club house kitchens preparing food for the beaglers. She's a great gal! I'm blessed!

I remember once when I came in from work, my wife lit in on me, and no matter what I said, it was the wrong thing. I got my cap and dog leash and headed out the door. She said, where are you going? I told her, I'm going to run dogs. She said, I wanted to talk to you. I said, I don't want to hear what you have to say. Soon I felt better and when I got back she was in a better mood. ???

Been married almost 13 years, coon hunted before we got married and sold my prize dog to buy her a ring, i have always been very cautious on the time i spend in the woods, i am like any other houndsman, always chompin at the bits so to speak to load the dogs and give a bunny a chase, how ever my wife or daughter dont care about hunting or fishing but respect how i feel about it and support every thing i do related to dogs, at the end of the day my hobby has no eternal value, so at my house its GOD, the glue that keeps it all together, family then as my wife says all those noisy dogs that run a rabbit aound in circles, so i agree with Dhoundsman, prioritize your time , put whats important what will be there in the long run first and then enjoy those few seemingly short minutes playing. Thats just how i do it .

The first date I take most girls on is strait out to the woods for a good 5 hour hunt if they can hang and not complain I know I'm on to somethin special. Why get married if they want to ask you not to do somethin you really like. In my eyes a good wife will show you they have your back and won't put that mental pressure on you. It takes a balance of all things me personally I don't have time for a woman that wants to hold me back in anything I want to do. Call me selfish but it's just how it's goin to be. I can cook clean do everything it takes to survive so till I meet that woman who is interested i the same things I am I'm a single man runnin hounds riding motorcycles buyin toys and nobody's tellin me how long I can run my hounds. Spent 9 years with the wrong girl lesson learned.

Well my fiancé loves the hounds but I tell her that if I wasn't going to bed early Friday and Saturday nights to run, id probably be out at the bars. That would cost as much money and instead of looking at a dogs ass go by, it would be a waitress!

Met mine thirty years ago, asked her out she said yes, I picked her up that evening and she asked where we were going, I told her spring Gobbler season was about to come in and we were going to Roost a Turkey, She thought that was code for something, because she had no idea what that was LOL. We did in fact roost a turkey. Hunt, Fish, and shoot was all I ever done for many years , she joined in in the early years but when the Daughter came along they kind of buddied up and did other things. We bought her some guns and a bow along the way and she killed some game. She is a good shot and I have seen her break 25 straight on clays. this past squirrel season I went to the range to sight my .22 in and she went along she hadn't shot a gun for several years, she shot two 5 shot groups at 50 yards that both hovered around 3/8ths of an inch. Kimber 82 , Leupold 6.5 x20 and Eley rabbits. You don't think that is cutting a pretty fat hog, try it sometime! she knows how much enjoyment I get out of it, never gave me a minutes worth of trouble about it, My first trip to Canada I told her the night before my trip, my buddy and I decided over some Whiskey to go tomorrow! I guess I said all of that to say this, If it ever comes down to Having to choose, YOU married the wrong woman!
