Some of my earliest memories is of my Dad's beagle. He was called Jughead. I started tagging along with dad when I was mightly young. He got me a 410 about age 10. Dad was a coal miner and had black lung awfully bad. So I started hunting by myself about the same time I got my shotgun. Dad would still take me hunting when he could.

Well my dad and grandpa and uncles coonhunted religiously... coon hides brought good money back then, so 5 or 6 days a week they'd coon hunt.... killem during the season.. and keep them in shape for the next... on the weekends and through the summers when I was in school... I was runnin coons at night and rabbits through the day...in between squirrel hunting with dads old curs... my dad and uncles and I would hunt them dogs in shifts...... back then you could kill and eat what you ran with them dogs...now a days around here... with everything leased up and all.... your lucky to just have somewhere to run your dogs... so I reckin I've been at this all my life.. and I want to give thanks to my dad and the rest of the family for raising me in the woods and teaching me about these ole hounds....
