Might try kenneling him with another male,if they get along and become buddies he might hang with him when you turn them loose.Never let them hang around you when they should be hunting or running.A small green switch will keep him away from your feet.

If he does not do what you like get another dog. JMHO You can not make a dog hunt. You can take it out of him but no one I mean no one can put hunt in a dog

You'll read alot of contradiction on these boards over the years. Most will tell you when their hound got his first taste of blood rabbit/hare shot over him, his hunt/desire went up to a higher level. Others will tell you, a gun season or two over a hound will make the hound.
I see no reason why these same experiences should not have the same positive effect on your hound, if he is destined to become a true rabbitdawg...
