I Own 4 off of Butkus 2 males littermates (ButkusXBrankos's Second Beauty), 1 female(ButkusXGreen bay Dolly), 1 female(ButkusxHunt-em-up Blazer Margret) and they will never leave my kennel. They are great all around hounds no extra mouth, big nose and good line control and great in the kennel. I am very excited about 2 liiters of pups I have out of my Butkus offspring (13 Weeks and 1 week old) The 13 week old pups are sight chasing and are using there nose so they will start early. I consider myself very blessed to own my Butkus Off Spring and I highly recommend them.

Butkus was my first choice akc dog when I started field trialing. Believe it or not, everything in gb's kennel was for sale at the time and maybe even today. We picked Jifka because we needed a female to raise pups. Joe was not willing to pardon both dogs. Some called luck, I called knowledge. When you first starting, you want to have the best in your hand to even the playing field. I started out with the best. Butkus still remain one of the best dog in my opinion. I have many of his offspring, but my favorite one out of Butkus is nlpc fc gb remi.
Another dog that we got from gb is gb max. when max cross with shooter/butkus female, the offsprings are a new level dog. Rita/max was the first litter and the result is eli. Another very nice cross to max is remi. You could wait for another 2-3 years for more pups out of max to stand on the podium or you could breed to him now. My dad is too busy to offer him for public stud, but I will try my best to stud max to the public. In my opinnion, the best dog to cross with shooter/butkus female is Max. Max is the missing puzzle to shooter/butkus breeding. When max cross with shooter/butkus female, the offspring is hybrid vigor. If you like your shooter/butkus female, breed it to max to fill in the missing puzzle. pm me and I could tell you more on the offspring of max crosses with shooter/butkus female and max himself.
