It was friggen distemper.... I am not sure how that's even possible... The had her shots at 6 8 and 24 wks. They were weaned at 6 weeks or so. The shot is supposed to be 100 percent effective. They came from different batches. Either way that's what it is.

ya I call BS on that to, either put it down or take it to the vet. cant stand people who let hounds suffer cause they don't have the stones to do whats right.
Because the dog ran off and wasn't found for three days is why. They thought it was dead. When I saw it the dog wasn't suffering. Just kinda retarded. I could of shot it there And pretended I was doing what's right but that's a yr olds dog... And if the dog seems to want tO live why not let it. once I realized it wasn't rabies I put 2 and 2 together and that was the only possible answer. Had a vet confirm. It saved them several hundred in bills and the outcome is no different. Either the dog gets to a healthy state on its own or we put it down if we decide she is suffering.

did the vet give you a reason how she get distemper after having shoots?

If the shots are not kept cold, they will go bad and be ineffective.

I always take an ice pack with me when I pick up 5-way and 7- shots and put them in a plastic bag with the ice pack and get them home ASAP.

Sorta, the 6-8 wk vaccinations could have not been effective because they were being weaned and were killed off by the mothers antibodies and then the one later shot was almost certainly the dud and the culprit..

I always give shots for my dogs a 6 8 and 12 weeks and then the year boosters after that. I am going to start doing 6 8 12 and 24. its only 6 bucks.

The dog is doing fantastic from what they say.. I will be down there this weekend to check on her and see how she is doing.

because moms milk can interfere with the shot i start feeding my pups pride puppy moistened with water at 5 weeks by weeks end when they turn 6 weeks old i wean them, and i give them there first shot at 6 weeks 9 12 16 weeks. There's only one shot safe to give before 6 weeks thats NEOPAR and its the only shot that milk doesnt interfere with.NEOPAR can be given at 4 weeks you might use it 4 and 6 weeks It's has hundreds of thousands of titers more than any other parvo shot, and its safest. I like the neopar at 4 weeks and 6 weeks and a 7 or 8 way at 9weeks 12 and 16 weeks.NEOPAR covers the new strain of Parvo too. NEOPAR is a parvo only shot comes in 10 dose vials 28 dollars. Neotech has distemper shot too 10 dose vial $23.
