Not to sound like a jerk on this ...My honest advise is yes you could spend the time getting them started... BUT based on your dozen times comment either you don't have the time or don't want to spend the time putting miles under their pads. Which, in the long run, will leave you frustrated and trying to sell 4 or 5 year old dogs.
If you are not able or willing to spend the time .. my suggestion is give them away to the nearest kid that would gladly take a young dog and go buy yourself a running hound.

That is 1.66666 times a month they have been out and if they are standing at your feet more often than not chances are your not spending 3-4hrs out there with them during that time!! In my opinion which don't mean much, but if that is all your going to put into hounds this sport isn't for you!!
