Someone help me understand!

I don t see nothing wrong with it if you like that.Went to a trial like that years ago and very nice people.To each his own but not for me.I m not going to put it down.Think about it yall this was real big in the 60 s and AKC was big in it too.To them that was the rabbit dog.One reason I don t care much for AKC.It don t matter to them as long as the money keeps coming in.

Well what I seen at the trial alot of old men and two in wheelchair.I overheard one man say.I had to slow my dogs down.Not only do I want to hear the dogs I want to see them too.This man was in a wheelchair.So you never know maybe one day I might be in that wheelchair doing trials.I believe they still do trials there.Crosscreek hunting club NC.Nice Big club.

thats what i hear everytime one of these videos surface and if thats the case , thats great ! hope i never have to resort to these kind of dogs for that reason , BUT everytime i see these videos everybody that is in the videos with these dogs looks to be in pretty good condition , not to mention most arent even elderly !

If it ever comes to that, I'll make my kids push me in the wheelchair as fast as they can go so I can see mine go. I'm sorry, I really mean no offense to anyone but that just doesn't seem to be what a beagle should be. That's not a rabbit "race."

I tried this kind of trial a long time ago back in the late 60 and 70, did not like it at all bought a dog to try it and just gave the dog away for a pet, Took my old rabbit dogs and just stayed in it just to hunt, then NKC came along and i helped start the first club in MD and it still going strong. Hunting dogs useualy have no trouble in this forum. NO AKC TRIALS FOR ME, GOD BLESS THE HUNTING DOGS

Question, why does ppl call it a race?? Is it really a race?? I don't refer it as a race. If its a race then whose the winner?? Field trials its Dog Vs Dog, gun in your hand and your killing rabbits its Dog Vs Rabbit. I think Mark Carder's videos is really awesome to watch. They work together, maybe to slow for my tastes, but they work together for one goal, to kill the rabbit or to run it. I think beaglers are to caught up in the speed aspect of running dogs and they lose focus on what a "rabbit dog" is. I'd rather have one that will cut up other hounds in the middle by making the turns, than one thats just racing to run!!

I feel some hounds have all the foot for the "race" but not enough sense or control to keep the "race" going. So kudos to those beaglers who wants a dog to consistently move a track, fast or slow.... JMO.

Man, all I can think is, "those poor dogs" ... Its like I wish i could whisper in their ear, "I'm sorry someone did this to you" they don't even know how much fun it would be to just take off and actually see what they are smelling...

Just for giggles I wanna take a nice lower medium speed dog and and ultra fast hard hitting hound and enter it in one of those trials

and then take one of them dogs to one of my UKC trials and enter it in a cast

I wonder if you could get it movin some when the other hounds brought the rabbit back or if you could ever possibly score a line before the one minute got you... or the two hour hunt was up...

still trying to figure out how those dogs are moving anything ! and im sorry that is a prime example of a dog that has absolutely no brains at all ! any dog that moves at that pace either has no brains or no nose and im betting BOTH !
and for the record , these dogs are nothing like Marks , his move the track , slower than i prefer but they still move the line and there is an end result in what they do , there is no end in sight for these dogs , they will spend their whole life not knowing what a rabbit is , only what it smells like

those arent even hunting dogs,they dont even let them find there own track from what ive seen and understand.how could you even feed something that doesnt hunt?

I read once somewhere on back in the early days they liked slower dogs and they would even break\maim dogs' legs so they couldn't be fast and even bred the dogs with deformities so they wouldn't be fast. Don't know how true any of that is but it sounds as if that would hurt the beagle breed.
Nice looking dogs tho in the vid most of them look show quality. I'm glad these people enjoy it but I'd probably be so anxious to make the dogs move I'd be pulling the dogs on the trail and helping them reach the rabbit. LOL
