Re: Fish Oil
So is it the Omega 6 or the Omega 3 or a combination of both in dog food that makes the coats shiny?
My wife is hung up on a particular brand of food that in my opinion isnt as good of a quality food and costs alot more just because she thinks it makes their coats shinnier.

Re: Fish Oil
Mike, I finished my bottle of tonekote and had a large bottle of fish oil pills so I started using them. Dogs look good, but I can't tell you which is better. My question for you is where do you get the omega 3 caps and are they intended for human or canine consumption?Big Mike wrote:thank you for your input. I am using omega3 caps 1000mg , twice per/week , was concerned about 1,000mg on a 25 pound dog. So only twice weekly for now. So far big improvement., I have 200 of these caps, so i guess I'll stick with these for awhile.
Re: Fish Oil
Tractor Supply, for canine use, but the ones for human consumption appear to be identical, and the price is the same for 200, 1000mg.

TC wrote:yes 1000mg twice a week during the winter and once a week during the summer UNLESS the feed we are using gets the job done, lot of feeds now have the Omega 3 and 6 in them if thats the case then we will feed them a capsule once a month..The Dogs love em!!Big Mike wrote:does anyone add omega-3 fish oil capsules to their hounds feed ? If so , how often and what size capsules? 1000 mg is all i see offered. thanks
btw , I followed TC's advice and only give it to each dog twice per/week , and is working out very nicely.
