My wife just bought me the Super Comanche for Christmas. It should work for someone that only shoots 1 or 2 hare a year. Anyone else have any negitive about the gun other than being cheap.

If you are a pitcher in Major league baseball, the Comanche might work. Just throw it real hard.Budd wrote:My wife just bought me the Super Comanche for Christmas. It should work for someone that only shoots 1 or 2 hare a year. Anyone else have any negitive about the gun other than being cheap.

I have one and they are real cheap but they sure help out the rabbit population. I got one from my wife for Christmas several years ago. I am planning on replacing it. I wonder how the Rossi compares?

If you are not happy with the Commanche, I wouldn't bother messing with the Rossi either. My advice save up and buy the TC Contender, it's well worth the money. I love hunting with mine. I tapped the bottom of the grip and put a sling on it, sure does make it easy to carry. I recommend you get the longest barrel you can on it and just put a sling on it. forget the holster. With the longer barrel you get a lot more distance and can still carry it with ease. Mine has a 16" barrel.

JCM GreyBeard Outdoors or Gunbroker is the best place to find them.
I have a TC Contender in 410/45 with a Super 14 barrel and I love it. I also have the pachmayr grips which are a must in my opinion.

Re: single shot 410 pistol?
Something else to consider as well. there have been a few threads on this subject and a lot of guys prefer the shorter barrels because they swing a little faster, that was why I went with the 12" instead of the 16". Just a thought, good luck
Re: single shot 410 pistol?
also get on specialty pistols forum.com there is a guy on there that makes custom holsters, I think it is daves holsters or gunhide holsters or something. He makes great custom holsters specifically built for your gun. Very well made and like 75 bucks for a bandolero holster with shell loops. PM me if you cant find him and I might be able to dig up a card or something.

Re: single shot 410 pistol?
I have a rossi. It has a 11 in barrel. A screw in/out choke and comes with a extra 22 lr barrel. Ive killed alot of rabbits with it this year, one up around 35 yrds. I shoot # 6 shot in it. It seems to be very tough gun. I dropped it on the concrete and did not mess up anything on it. It pretty nice. I paid 279 plus tax for it. Is it a tc or encore? Probably not, but It is a nice rabbit gun and I like it. Hope this helps.
