Cure NOT Kill...Ignorance is the only reason beaglers still believe in kill over cure..you will never cure anything by killing..there is a cure,so why not use it??you will find it in some of the literature/sites listed in this thread..listed by Patch..check them out..and remember CURE is the right answer..all others are simply ignorance or lack of knowledge and education..

I have not seen any study that can completely guarantee that a dog will be okay after having brucellosis and being treated. As a matter of fact it says that the dog can test positive later even after being neutered, in one of the studies that I read. It isn't worth the risk to a persons reputation or his other dogs. If you get a hot one then you should do the responsible thing and put it down. If you don't, then don't bring that potlicker or any others that have been around it to a trial or any other place where the unknowing can be exposed. That is completely irresponsible behavior, If there was a substantiated cure it would be on the market so that the vets could cure it and make money.

Big Dog ...WRONG ANSWER!! If a person gets it..and they have and do..just kill them also and forget a cure..now that is ignorance in the first degree..a responsible person would first seek a cure and insist in a cure and not take the easy road out of town..did you say you do or do not have a family tree??it has been cured on people and hounds and it will continue to be for the responsible hounds person...

Bill that is a crock. You are mixing apples and oranges. You are comparing human beings to dogs and it ain't the same buddy. So tell me, would you bring one of your so called cured dogs to a trial after it had been cured?

Here are a couple of sites all saying the same thing about brucellosis, but obviously Bill you know more than a lot of the doctors so please enlighten us all as to what should be done to cure a dog. To all others read for yourself and be the judge: Both of these websites give good info on brucellosis. The 2nd one addressess canine brucellosis specifically. By the way Bill, your posts really sound a lot like someone else that used to post here from time to time. Things that make you go HMMMMM.(LOL)

i agree with you big dog put them down and if you dont sure dont bring them to a trial and humans and dogs are no comparison

Sorry Bill, but I cannot find a vet in the country who will say that there is a 100% positive cure for Brucellosis. Is it woth it? PEOPLE? There is also a prevention shot for cattle, BUT NOT FOR CANINES...

YES-----not only would i but i know of others that have had the Big B,as some like to call it, and after treatment and tested negative several times and had normal litters---continued to trail and still trails today and--Mr Big Dog---you have trailed with this beagler and will continue to do so--as long as you trail in SPO/Deep South--this well known beagler has been active in trials for many years--had most his kennel put down and treated others and found out for himself--first hand--that it could be cured--using the treatment found in you listed web page http://www.ivis.org
In the past breeders of well known studs--FC's and IFC'c would keep the B at rest with medication and breed as many females as they could and make all they could off the studs.
Cure--you speak of cure--and want to know why there is not a cure to the general public----job security--government money for testing etc--THINK-- before you type and speak about something you know nothing about and want others to take up the cross and follow what YOU believe others are wanting to hear--step on a few toes--speak the truth--listen and learn--KNOWLEDGE is worth more than richs--KILLING is a cowards way out--you destroy because you are scared and like knowledge about something, you push it aside and get rid of it and than you can rest easy,untill it appears on your front porch again and again and again,when if you had looked for a cure instead of KILL,you would have eradicated the problem and prevented its return and if it did return you would be prepared to handle the problem and not scared of the problem.Scared people do strange thinks,a scared person will kill you,when a relaxed,knowledgable person will analize the problem and think twice about doing something,STUPID and IGNORANT like KILLING!!!

Mr. North,
Reason we have to test and worry about the big B is people that have false hope. Those that breed knowing they have the disease in their kennel. If a dog gets it it needs to be put down or you run the risk of infecting not only your kennel but other hounds. Ive heard of home cures for the disease and so forth but in truth their is no sure fire cure for the disease this is directly from my VET.

It is stated in the ARHA rules book that if a person knowingly brings a dog that has tested for Bruceolosis that person will be banned for life.

As far as the sun frying our brains may be some truth to that. On second thought YOU CAN JUST GO F YOURSELF YOU DUMB@&&.

Bill, how far up north are you? You wouldn't like the South and the Southern people.

At least you put SOUTHERNERS and THE SOUTH in all caps which shows you might of had a Southern teacher somewhere in school.

Bill North talks a lot but I see no proof that backs up his claim. he attacks southerners and this is a sure sign he doesn't have facts. A man will resort to personal attacks when he runs out of facts to back his claim. Always talking about God and how he can cure anything. Where is the cure for the common cold? If you have one that God told you about, the world is waiting for you to share it with us.
