A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)

That all being said I have met men and women through running beagles who I would trust completely. Their word is golden with me. I have also met scoundrels who lied to my face and cost me a lot of money. My best story is the $1000 I paid for a dog site unseen by a big time LP trialer who, if there is any justice in this world, I will meet in public some day and out.
My best advise for Dan440 is find a people that you can trust and speak the same language you do when it comes to describing a dog. Someone that will tell you straight up, "you won't like this dog, he is not your style". The days of a man's word meaning something are NOT long gone. You just have to find the right men and, most importantly you have to BE that man.
Very well said, I appreciate how you said that. Good job! I totally agree!
I've met a many of folks in the hound world over my years of following them. Some were NOT very trust worthy but most were. I've seen these hounds bring the worst out of people especially when there's titles, trophys and or money involved. I can say that through all of that I have stood under the Oath that my word is my bond and I just can't understand how a man could not back his own word. I've also had the sense to try to know who I was dealing with as there have been dog/horse traders and jockeys nearly since there was a hound put on this earth. What really opened my eyes was when so-called friends came in the back door! I'm now pretty choosey with a lot more things other than peanut butter!
sorry if i am not agreed with but in my opinion if i sell a dog or buy one and get or give alot of money that dog better give me 100 % or you a 100% a good level headed hard hittin dog imo will run the same where ever put on the ground and who ever puts them there i have 6 hounds in my kennel that will hammer a bunny for anybody i understand pups im talkng seasoned dogs but i have never owned a hard hittin pup that wouldnt do the same for any1 Hunt that dog a few more times to get one to run is a dog jockey excuse if i buy a seasoned dog and have to kiss his butt and hunt it a week to get it to run its going back Rain on that When a man says he has rabbit dog and you take it and it piddle farts around Dont take me wrong i have seen them funny turned dogs but when the race was on that heart came out Dog traders have all the tricks to make money
