Coming this fall CGS Kennel Baby Stakes Hunt

Looking forward to attending as a spectator, seeing what everyone's got. What's the cost for just looking?

The cost for looking is free but we hope that everyone will bring a puppy to show off at this hunt. There will be no measuring of the hounds and the best males and females will win on running rabbits believe me. Good luck to all and the date has been set for the third saturday in september. Closer to the hunt we will piost the judges for the hunt. Like many have said when the tailgate drops the bull stops don't be scared come get some.

Was going to attend but something else has come up and looks as though I will be out of town Sure wished I would get to see some dogs run... Looks as though I will be pretty busy with the kids and all during the month of Sept. Maybe i can hit some trials in Oct.

Not trying to put a damper on things, and I won't have anything to run so I am not making any excuses here. But I've seen some fine young hounds get blown up when thrown in a gd brace derby trial. Now you are talking putting them down with 4 other dogs. So be careful with your up- and- comers guys. I wouldn't wait for the trial before testing them with a few other strange dogs. At a fun trial like this they will be up against every style of hound. lp, pp, spo, midwest spo, large pack.

Yes we will be having this hunt on 9-17-11 at Todd's Running Pen in Glasgow, Ky. The hunt will go on as stated eariler on the rules being males agaisnt males and females running against females. This will be based on more of the LP style of judging. The difference being no jumps just strikes and checks. This should be a fun hunt with lots of high poweresd pups getting a chance to see the trial format before being thrown in with all age dogs. The age of the pups will be no pups will be allowed to enter the hunt if they have been born prior to July 1st 2010. This will open up a few more slots for some to be able to hunt without it being a feild trial for big dogs. I hope to see Reggie, Junie, Turbo, Phatom, Bumper to Bumper, Switch and yes there will be some Johnboy pups there too. I am sure there are several good young dogs out there that are out of top quality dogs to many to mention as i hope I did not offend anyone by not listing there dog. The awards will be in the form of cash prizes to the winning pups from each male and female. The stud dog and dam owners will also recieve a cash prize for thier breeding efforts. I hope that ever one will come out and have a good time and see how their breeding program stacks up to others. Should be very exciting.

Buckeye Blues, Thanks for your post and this hunt will be for those that want to attend and showcase thier puppies. I would hope that a hour or two of running pups with other pups wont blow up anything, but i guess you can never be to careful.

Wish like h e l l it was the weekend after that. My club has a hunt that weekend and i have to be at my home club.

Have a 1-2 year old class and I will fill it up. I would like the to see the dogs run for at least 30 mins and then start judging. Say if a dog has quit hunting or give out, then it is pickup up. Judge on speed, hunt, line control, and run them for hour and half large pack style.
