that is well said. but on that path it is full of heartaches. You sound like a good man and i really hope that everything goes smothly for you.

Gunslinger: Thanks for the kind words. Life can have a lot of heartaches. This is a disappointment and an irritation but hardly rates a heartbeat in the big scheme of things.

Re: Lied to Once Again
buck I basically feel the same way as you do about it and I've also been stood up a time or two on a dog deal. It irritates me because I just cannot understand why it's so hard for people to just be honest.......either you want the dog or you don't.......something came up or you changed your mine or whatever, that's fine just call me and let me know.
I find myself more cautious and more skeptical of people than I used to be but I still try to treat everyone as best as I can if they are looking to buy a dog from me. I basically just work out a deal with them whatever that may be and as long as they continue to do what they say when they said they'd do it then I will hold the dog for up to a week for them. Anything longer than that and I ask for a deposit asap because it really stinks when you turn away interested people and then your "buyer" never comes to get the dog. A deposit seems to keep the "no shows" to a minimum for me. Also for a deal that's supposed to happen within the week I don't usually ask for a deposit. It seems a little overboard to me to ask someone to rush out to send a money gram if they are already planning on coming to get the dog in the next few days anyhow.
Now on the first come first served thing..........I've done it that way and I don't like it..........just me personally. But I have no issues with someone selling a dog that says I don't care where you're coming from the first one to get the money into my hand owns the dog. If they live far enough away then they can send out a money gram to have first shot at the dog if they want it bad enough. As long as the rules are stated up front then they know when they leave their house if I beat them there with the money then I get the dog and not them. At that point it's up to them to understand they could be just wasting a trip. Again, I don't personally like to do that to others but if their told that's how it is up front then I have no problem when others choose to do business that way.

Good points Bunny: This is only a $250 dog. Not meaning that is all he is worth but that is all I am asking. I guess, to me, a lie is a lie regardless of the money involved. Seems like things get too complicated but, like you said, all the boy had to do was give me a call. I once made a handshake deal on a $100,000 and it went off with out a hitch. Course, I once made a handshake deal on a $125,000 and that fell through like a thud from the other side. Those kind, hurt just a little.
