Wow even if I thought my dogs needed 80 hours per week of running time, which I can't imagine why they would, I honestly don't know where I would find the time for it. Between having a 45-65 hour per week job, 3 kids with school and extra curriculars, a wife that likes to spend time with me, kids that I try to spend time with(which yes does include taking them to run dogs), other family obligations and normal chore type stuff around the house I just can't seem to find that kind of free time for my dogs. They do generally get somewhere between 10 and 20 hours per week in the woods which I just hope is enough for them. I guess that's the price they have to pay because I choose to lead a normal life with responsibilities.

I was wondering too because I surely can't wait to see their names at the top of the list after every trial. I sure do feel bad for all the other guys and their dogs though. Do you think they'll even bother to make the trip and pay the entry fees since they'll be going into it knowing they have absolutely no chance of winning before it even starts??? It may actually hurt the number of entries they have don't you think? And who will want to be a member either at that point?

Chap: How do you do it? 80 hours a week? I run everyday but I am lucky to get maybe 3 hours a day. Some of these guys seem to be being a little sarcastic here. Not me, you are my hero.

Been Feeding Retriever for about 2yrs now really like it for the money and honestly my dogs will eat it right up when i feed diamond naturals chick and rice it would stay in the bowls all day sometimes. not knocking diamond i still think its a good dog food but feed what your dogs like and will eat. if im not running much 1 or 2 times a week i feed the green bag retriever 2 cups per dog depending on body condition if im running more than that ill feed he blue high energy bag 2 cups per dog. and sometimes ill buy the yellow bag for something different the only retriever product i don't like is the gravy blend.

Thats all right chap you can keep your dogs havent been to a trial in over a year my 2 boys both play 3 sports and its year round hauling them to practices and games. My entry fee money goes to them entering them in wrestling tournments and other needs. Wouldnt trade it for the world watching them compete is way better than watching dogs compete. Will have plenty of time for dogs when they are grown and out of the house.

I've fed Ol' Roy, Retriever, Buck Eye, Diamond, Sport Mix, Purina, Hi Standard, maybe more? All around 26/18 - 27/15.
Seem to be quite similar.

Retriever (blue bag) is pretty good feed.

I've been feeding Sport Mix for the last 18 months, we hit a cold snap (-0) and the dogs lost weight.
I currently mix 50% Retriever to 50% Sport Mix, hoping to hold weight.
I think a change in diet can boost their metabolism?
Doing fine now, but also a little warmer temps.

BUCK MAN I AM ASOrRY TO HERE THAT. PEOPLE JUST DONT HAVE ANY COMPASTION ANYMORE SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

AS AFR AS RUNNING I PUT 35 HOURS OF SOLO TIME ON TANK THIS WEEK, AND THAT IS NOT COUNTING THE PACK TIME I JUST HOPE IT PAYS OFF AT THE END OF THE MOUNTH.
i was not able to get 80 hours but i did get 68 on them every hour loged in my little black book. i am writing the day, time ran, barometic preasure ext

as far as you idots doughting on how much i run. you are more than welcome to come out any day or night. i am not working and that is all i do. :D if you want your dog hardend up. i would run it for 2 dollars and hour pack time, and 4 dollars an hour solo time. i am not the type to sit around the house i have 3 pups that got 20 hours on them this week the oldest is 5 months and they all are running in the wild.

hay bunnyblaster is ace could make the stand i would already be telling you boy to save your entrys, and stay home cause i got it all raped up   just ask i have been know to do just that  i did it 3 times and won all 3 times he would still be winning if he could beat the stand  but has grown in to a monster 16 + inches

That's why I don't trial.........all that time on my dogs is just too much pressure. And I can't see going unless there's a good chance I'll get to take home a trophy. Without that it's just a huge waste of time.

I will agree it's a shame that something as simple as a measuring stand can take down a magnificent animal like Ace. It almost doesn't seem fair to have rules like that. Maybe breed him to a small gyp?

Hey chappy I did want to ask which format are you going to run in? In all seriousness I'm a little surprised to hear you talk about trialing after hearing your take on judges in the past. Are you going to hit a different format this time around?
