Re: Bad Registrations.
I wonder if anyone has filled papers out incorrectly and if they considered this a choice for number 2. I have, in the long past, sold a dog and not filled out the new owner name. This is filled out incorrectly and so I picked Number 2. Wasn't trying to cheat or change papers on a dog, just didn't think it was a big deal to leave the new owner blank at the time.

Re: Bad Registrations.
Since everyone is taking such a high road regarding their honesty.....her's another question about "phony papers": Who has ever bought or sold a vehicle and either you the seller or the buyer has left either the name or price blank or falsly entered? I've bought cars that had been sold 3 times and had never had the title correctly filled out! Hmmmmm, we're all not quite so honest as we profess to be, are we? Situational dishonesty is still dishonesty, and a fudged legal document is still a fudged legal document.

Re: Bad Registrations.
It is beginning to look as if some of our Registration Certificates may not be worth the paper that they were printed on. There must be thousands of grade dogs behind the pedigrees, all through no fault of the Registries, but that of dishonest people.
Tomorrow, I have the unpleasant task of informing my hounds that contrary to what their impressive pedigrees claim, it is possible that one or more of their ancestors may have been an impostor. I can only hope that they will not be devastated to the point that it hinders their hunting abilities. Therapy for canines is pretty expensive in my area, not sure that I can afford it.
On second thought, it may be best that I not tell my hounds about this possibility.

Re: Bad Registrations.
To put this into perspective as to what has been claimed on the Patch thread there should be an answer that says "Have you ever accidentally or on purpose put the sire as a dog that has never been bred in your kennel?"

Tim H. sounds like you have the makings of a new poll. These type of things are the dirty little secretes in our world.
Re: Bad Registrations.
There have been 99 responses to this poll thus far. Roughly. 1/3 have said they have at one time or another fudged the registration papers. The importance of the fudging has varied of course but I am wondering why we haven't had more responders? I know there are a lot of people that have not made a vote.
