This is all off from the original topic but it made my head hurt to read all that crap.

Look at corp. earnings and where they end up. Kia drivers .... pres kim loves ya in North Korea. Boys it is an age old battle but think about it. I will say that several of the imports are great vehicles. But purchase them used. Unless the american people quit the fighting and carr'en on about it all and do the right thing then it will never fix it's self. It has been months after i read the profit detail list from walmart and i have not graced the doors sense then. Do the right thing.

As for the original subject yes it is a shame that akc charges what they do and then sells medal contracts to the lowest bidder. So sad.

I will not argue with anyone on the usa big 3.... just think about it. It's your call.

However, we now also receive a cheap little medal from them, by seperate mail. What really, really irks me is that it is made in China. First of all, who needs it, but more than anything else, IF they want to give the owners a little medal, at least have it made in the U.S. or in Canada. Our dogs are running in Canada and in the U.S., not in China. I really don't want it, my dogs won't wear it running in the bush. Giving people a little medal like that is akin to the white man giving the Indians beads when they first came to North America. Is it supposed to make us feel better, after paying all the fees they have in place.? Have we forgotten that running dogs in competition is about the dogs, and not about the owners???
I'll be returning a whole bunch of them, stating the above.

How bout every one join up and make a voice to AKC that we are willing to pay for the American/Canadian labor so the metals can be made in USA/Canada  or would that be too expensive?

Frieda, I get what you are saying. I wonder what AKC would say if you sent the medals back with a suggestion that they purchase them in US or Canada? I'm sure you carry some weight with them. I was at a Civil War event last week and was pleased that there were American made items for sale there at the vendors' tent. When I observed closer, there were several Civil War items on the other side of the store that were made in China. My 12 year old son noticed it before I did. We voiced our displeasure and left. Anyone else volunteer to pay a bit more and keep North Americans working?

I would actually like to see a group formed voicing out to the AKC that they want to pay more money and keep the metals inland.

I agree with alot of what has been said above but then I think about this.........
I cant speak for Canada but how many Americans would work in a factory and make those little metals??? The truth is most americans wouldnt do it! Its easier for them to sit on thier ass and draw unemployment or disability!!!

MJD,
People like me are tired of footing the bill for lazy people! If someone is truely disabled then I am all for them being able to get assistance but you know as well as I do that there are many people out there that are abusing the system!

It's all fun to pick at each other but the fact is, businesses want to move away from taxes. Business moves offshore to avoid a greater tax burden, profits can be taxed less from foreign if your a global business. Accounts and layers are not employed for only suit and tie dinners.

I heard Oil Companies warn again yesterday, "don't spank us to hard or we'll leave", "you need us more than we need you".
I remember the US oil reply when ask ,"what will happen to the price of oil if the USA goes into recession. They said, "no problem, China and Asia want our oil and they're willing to pay the price.

I've learned many American Corporate Heads don't live in this Country or have second homes abroad.
I question just how much loyalty is left in America.
I question how many people coming to America actually want to be Americans.

I was struck by a reply on an interview with some Israeli leader when ask about sentiment turning against them. They said, "We have something the others don't have on our side", when asked what that might be they said, "no where else left to go".

Well, better go hoe the tomatoes and hill the potatoes... ;)
