BOLDSTROKE AKC FC

Post by KEV »

Which Boldstrokes have finished or placed in a licensed AKC trial? It's easy to check, just go to AKC website and type in their registered name or number. Just because a dog does well in one registry, doesn't mean it will be as successfull in another. This is especially true in the South where AKC SPO is conservative and the other registries like a harder hitting dog. If you want to see how the Boldstrokes match up to AKC SPO dogs in this area, there's a trial this weekend at Southside Beagle Club in South Hill, Va. I believe it's not too far from where you live. Good luck in beagling, remember this is a sport where you pay for a judge's opinion each time your dog competes, results may not be what you expected, and there's always another day. Hope to see you at Southside this weekend.

Hey Oldtimer,
If you are from the Ohio or Pa. area and don't want to go that far South, let me know I have a few BOLDSTROKES that I will throw down, let's see what you got.
Aaron I would agree with Mark speed will vary but none are slow, line control will to,but what I've seen all are above average, check work may vary some but the hunt is good in all. They have done well on the ice and snow up here for me,even the young dogs.

Hang in there with them Mark, at least they are letting me rest when they are on you. lol
Daddy always told me if people were bad mouthing a dog thats the one he wanted, cause it was kicking butt.
When red & swamper go up to your place, I will spring for some gas so I can tag a long too. I like to watch good hounds work every once in a while. I like the way the critics always are guests don't yall.

I don`t know which dogs have finished in the AKC. But I do know that I won`t take them to Southside VA. My dogs are to fast for that style of dog. I tried running there before with another dog and she is as fast as my Boldstrokes. I liked the people there and seen some good dogs, They just run a different style. I think Boldstrokes might do better in Mid West style of AKC trials , I hear they run alittle faster.

KEV, you run against some of these dogs , what did you think? Thanks Paul

Running With Boldstroke's

Post by KEV »

We didn't get to do much running that day. Skedules and things just didn't work out. Hope your children had a good party after the parade. Would love to get some time running with yours and Mark's dogs to compare their style with what I run. Maybe we can get together and run one weeekend in March on a friend of mine's farm where the dogs can stretch out and we can cook a few burgers and enjoy the show. As far as Southside goes, you have to look at the judges in each class and run accordingly. I'm going mainly to run a couple of Joe's big bitches for him that need a win to finish and look at a couple of mine to see if they can handle pack pressure and are worth putting time into. Maybe the weather will better this weekend.

ya'll young'uns is just gettin into this. i been there, done that. seen it with my own eyes. call bob. if he's honest he'll tell you too. yep, the truth surely does hurt. hey gill, i'll see you when you get back, maybe we can run dogs again like we use to. you boys might have gils dogs but you won't be able to breed like him. he paid his dues, now you gonna pay yours. in a couple of generations all them ugly traits will show up, yep, the ones that gill use to hide. good luck boys

Hey Oldtimer,
You don't want any of these dogs especially if they ghost trail! You better just stay away from them and keep breeding the same cookie cutter line that so many others breed. Just remember not to get too close in your breeding cause you might find a few skeletons in your closet.
Mark, I hope you don't take this guy too serious. If everyone liked your dogs than you would be running every trial against a dog like Rebel. You don't want that do you? I would have a hard time getting up early for a trial knowing I was up against a whole pack of Boldstroke hounds! Oh, by the way I plan on going hare hunting this next week since we have spring break at the college. I plan to try and get some of the running on video. If I do I'll send you a copy Mark but you have to remember, all you'll see will be Beagles cause Ghost rabbits don't show up on video. HA HA! Keep on running them!!! TomR
I would be glad to run with any one in question.
