HH you need to give them at least a week to learn the place. When you catch one leave it in the box.and take box and all.Do it at night so no hawk is looking.Jump master I m not say it can t be done but the longest I ve ever keep a grown rabbit in a cage is 7 days. They just die around here. There eyes start to get water and just die.Now for young rabbits its different.Would love to know how or what hes doing.Thanks.

I take a feed bag with me when I check my traps if you use wire traps take two bags put one over the wire trap so the rabbit stays calm and dose not run its head against the wire they will kill there self by hiting there head if the nose has blood coming from it they most likely will die,Put the other bag over the trap and pour the rabbit in the bag tie bag with string. They will be fine in the bag for a few hours. IF left in bag and all is quiet for a while they will chew out. They cant hurt themself in the bag.Now here is something I did 20 years ago that worked well. I had a large aboveground pool 24x16 oval the linar got torn and the pool was not being used so I filled it with christmas trees and brush put in a few wild rabbit and they raised in there I never had any preadator problems I think the solid walls kept the scent in and the hawks did not see them for the brush I only left room inside to walk around the sides. And yes I started a few pups in there to.

To move the rabbit to another place to release it I pull a black pillow case over the trap. This works to keep the rabbit calm and from hurting himself while moving him to another place. Then to release it I open the trap and tap the back to get him to come out.
