My dog embarrassed the snot out of me today.

I believe dogs will have good days and bad days, however, this sounds similiar to a friend of mine and his dog. His dog is a top notch jump dog. I mean he crawls thru thickets like a snake. But, one day when he was out with a couple of friends, his dog would not leave his sight. These were all friends so the dogs were familiar with one another. The other dogs jumped a rabbit. He just stood there. The man that owns the dog said, "Boys something ain't right." A few minutes later two coyotes attacked the pack that was running the rabbit. Since then, if his dog stands around, you can bet there are some yotes around! Just something to think about.

ditto Laal
Yeah, we've all had those days. I've learned not to brag too much or I'll end up eating my own words. Laal, you mentioned your dogs run best when it's just you and them, I agree and feel the same way. I know what it is though. When I'm alone with my dogs, I don't mind using my funny calls or tone of voice, but when buddies come along, I tend to be more reserved and "vocally guide" the dogs much less or at a lower tone.
One of the situations I'm fighting now, is my two dogs jump and run well together. Each can solo his/her own and honor the other's call. When my one of my buddies come with their dogs, my pups want to play or even worse, won't honor their packs. They just don't get enough pack experience. That will change as we get deeper into the season.
GBowers.....keep the long post coming.
Dosgris.... You Lab story was fantastic..... Out of all the stories so far, I think you're winning....

Dogs don't have to look good to win tittles, but conformation "enhances their chances"!
