We burned 'em up today! Pop and I got a "liars limit" (limit if you count all the birds killed by both to one man) and spent under 90 shells.....that's less than 8 shots per bird which is pretty good! We had a 3 acre patch of sunflowers and milo at my house with a string of decoys on a wire and they flew pretty good. Great day in the field with my absolute favorite hunting partner my DAD! If it hadn't been so hot we would have finished the day with a hound chase at dusk. Greatest thing in the world to burn some powder on my own land with the man who took me hunting when it would have been easier to go by himself. Pop is almost 68 and we still get it done in every season we can! I'll just tell the tale Pop went 3 birds for his first 4 shots but it tapered off CONSIDERABLY from there!!! He is a great wingshot and hell on rabbits even though he had to learn to shoot lefthanded after he lost his right eye. I saw him take first place in a sporting clays tournament a few years ago when he hadn't shot at a bird in 5 years. My Dad.
