A vet told me that if you run a bead of Dawn dish soap(regular)not scented, before you run It will keep them off the dogs.He said to apply it like frontline and rub it in.I havent tried it yet,not many up north yet its a little early in the year.If anyone tries it let us know, could be a cheep fix

I usally burn my running grounds in late march or early april . Burning off these places make a huge difference,it not only kills ticks and fleas but it draws alot of rabbits to the area with the new tender grass.I pour 7 dust around in places where I have seen the rabbits dusting , it does a good job keeping the ticks off the rabbits .And as for myself I spray repel on my pants and the ticks just fall right off . (tape the bottom of your pant legs)
I know alot of you guys can't burn off your running ground and I am not telling you to go around starting fires.

Let me know when you're going to over to Cowboy's in Indiana a few months from now. I want to put some pups in his running pen over the weekend. We can run dogs and shoot some guns in between.

Checked the dogs today and no ticks on them.
