yeah i seen the pedigree. when carl sent smoke to newfunland the us lost a hell of a hound.smoke was a big boy. and could run the guts out of a rabbit

Thats too bad. We need to keep blood like that going. Som e of the Patch hounds I've seen lately are not the quality of hounds that Smoke, Stupe, And Hammer Patch were.

All of my Patch lines go back to Penntroyal Patch Casey (Stupe), My Hammer Patch, Glyshaws WoodSong Patch. Top and bottom.

Glyshaw's WoodSong, & Pearl Patch owned by Doug Bragg were two of the most beautiful well put-to-gather patch hound bitches I'd seen, Maddog of GR's wasn't hard to look at also.
WoodSong was Peaches & Ivory's great-grandma through Royal Falcon Patch, her daddy Lazy Acres One Spot was inbred off One Spot Patch, the breeding of her onto PennyRoyal Patch Casey put two more shots of One Spot Patch in the pedigree in the 4th generation, she was bred to produce.
Peaches & Ivory's grandma and Mr. Horns mama was NorthWind Patch Spirit, she also brought in a shot of One Spot Patch, through Patch Red Pepper.
Peaches & Ivory's mama had 4 crosses of Hammer IV and 4 crosses of One Spot Patch through 2 sons of ole Stupe. Mr. Horn has 4 crosses of One Spot Patch on his daddy's side.
Makes me realize, I need to put Lucy to Mr. Horn before it's to late...

We went running on Monday with Darrell Shildt and his patches in PA and he brought a friend that also has patch bred hounds. His friend was telling us that his 1st love is coyote hunting with hounds, they use Walkers and Blueticks and travel all over the northeast. He showed us a picture with 17 dead coyotes from one night!!
We told him to head on over to Ohio, we've got some land they can run on!

Is that male still living Bill? Dusty is directly out of Gunsmoke too, he's really getting up there in years but still looks pretty darn good. He's got cataracts and doesn't hear well but we're going to take him out with the pups a few times just for fun.

what patch blood are they out of . i just bred a female to a little patch. i got a male blanket back with ticks purty blocky built and strong purty good scrapper might have a start

i talked to fred last year, and he said smoke passed on a few years ago. i tryed talking him to send a male he has out of smoke down to MI for awhile but that is the last of fred beagles. i beleave he was nine, so dusty has to be getting up in age.

Dusty will be 14 in June He looks very good for his age though LOL!

i have never heard of them, but SR would have alot more knowledge then me. i pretty much have run the same line when i have a patch hound.
