Same here. Prices have gone up. Can't get a semi load for that price before freight.

you guy ever try sexton bros. dog food 22/16 is very good under $14 a bag.it rank in the top 5 in nutrition and pride can second to last in front of ol' roy.i feed purina dog chow i pay for $15.99 a 55lb.bag at kmart also feed purina 1.but before i pay a higher price for pride or black gold i would feed sexton first.but for the money you cant beat purina.most of the nutrition and protein in pride and black gold also sexton go in one hole out the other.sexton just dont push their dog food like pride or black gold.

I'm paying 18.50 for 50lb of Diamond Premium Adult at the local fed store here in Central Ky. The dealer is on the road that I drive every day, so with gas prices what they are, I'm sure I'm saving a few $ by not having to drive out of my way or making a special trip to buy it.

I've tried a lot of other feeds but have always ended up back where I started...with Diamond. I just haven't seen the problems and inconsistensies in it that everyone else has pointed out. I switched to Pride for a short while during the big scare last year. It was decent but I wasn't satisfied with it compared to Diamond.

I tried Sexton Bros. several yrs ago. I bought two bags and threw the second one away. It may be a much better feed now. I couldn't believe it the other day when I looked at the feed at Wal-Mart. $18+ for Purina Dog Chow and almost as much for Ol' Roy. Pretty low quality feeds IMO. Way over priced.

As long as the Diamond is available to me and I can afford it, I don't plan on trying anything new.
I asked one of the boys what they were feeding those hounds and he said "Mostly rabbit tracks"---Willet Randall

I have been feeding Joy for two years. Their Hi-Energy has gone up $4.55 and their Chicken and Rice has gone up $5.80 a bag over the two year period.

I fed BlackGold for 7 yrs and switched because of the price.Tried Purina,Joy and even Sportmix. After a year of trying these cheaper products I found out the old saying is true, you get what you pay for.I just ordered 2 tons of BlackGold 24/20 Blue bag $21 and 23/16 gray bag for $19 a bag yesterday. They had the black bag for $18 a bag but I don't like the higher protein.Just think I paid this price today.Wonder how much it will be 6 more months from now.

I pay 18$ a bag for Chestnut Mountain blue bag but I LOVE the feed and will not feed something cheaper just because it is cheaper. I am sure I could get CMF a little cheaper if I bought by the ton but I need people to go in on it with me.... I do not trust alot of old food.

and gas wise... it get it from my brother LOL make him bring it to me on his way over !!!

I am going to switch over to SportsMix, and I know where I can get a blue bag of Sportsmx High Energy Adult Mini Chunk 26/18 for $14.00 at 50# a bag. This was the price of the food the last time I checked. It comes from a amish store where they butcher up beef, chicken, and other things.

Mike I had bought a couple skids of BG 26/18 and was paying less than $16 a bag a few months ago. My dist. sells it for $16 a bag, but sells out so fast to deer clubs. If you're interested I've got a good contact at the company I can hook you up with.
