Not an option! I really like this female and like her breeding so I'll work on her. I sure hope your kids never screw up cause you'll sell them and let someone elese have the headache.

I've had some dogs that I've struggled w/ in the past....running deer. We have more deer than rabbits down here in TN. Anyway, the more time you spend in the field w/ your dog and the more you listen to her you will be able to "hear and feel" that something isn't right when they jump a deer track. As mentioned before, a deer track is fast and furiest from the get go and the hounds most often don't check. Also, I have had hounds that I could hear a difference in their mounth when on a deer track.

Also, I would highly recommend limiting where you run until you can trust your dog. You mentioned you could not see. Hunt areas that have good visibility...for example, a thicket in the middle of a field - anything runs out you will see it. Or, a fence row down the middle of two fields...again so you can see what she is running.

Best of luck, and bottom line - if we don't break our beagles off deer - they will eventually end up dead. Most times by a car.
