I think in this situation, you have to know your line of dogs. As they become older, some lines will settle into the chase and become excellent rabbit dogs. Other lines of dogs will just cheat more and more and ruin chases their whole life.

Do you know of other dogs with the same breeding? I would look closely at both sides for a couple of generations. If the older dogs run like you want, I would be patient, and give this young dog with a little extra energy time to become a rabbit dog. If the some of the older dogs cheat and can't handle pack pressure, I would find a line of dogs that suit you better.

im going to seperate them for a while the dogs are young and littermates i have seen the one literaly shoulder the other almost like rough tree dogs on a coon this is my first time personally seeing this much competiveness thanks again

There are ALOT of hounds out there that will forsake the rabbit for the chase...they have more foot than brains. I will take a more conservative hound that can account for it's game anyday, over most of the hit and miss wind-splitters that are popular today. I'd say cull the head-bangers, and get some that can slot up and get the job done..
