I'm glad your dogs are doing better.BJK wrote:I switched to 24-20 a week ago. What a difference, they look now the way they looked when I first switched them to 26-18 over a year ago.
It's a shame that these company's get their business built up with a good product, and then change something, to save money, or for whatever reason.
Whether they will admit it or not, something has changed. Anyone in their right mind can tell something is wrong, after feeding the same stuff for three years and then this. Looks like the same deal as Diamond done three years ago. Dogs had plenty of energy, but lost alot of weight real fast, and couldn't feed enough to put it back on them. Same thing now with 26/18. That was back when Diamond changed their fat, not to be confused with the time when a bunch of dogs died.
Is anyone else having problems with this, or are we a select few?

Could be good by
I am feeding about 1.5 times what I was feeding. I have been extra satisfied w/ Black Gold up to now. If Things don't change on this next batch i will go to Pro plan and they may never get another shiney penny from Ol' Dad again.

Desire and the abilities to account for the rabbit.

We have talked with the owners person to person and they say nothing has changed but from the looks of my hounds it has and not to the better. If i dont see an improvment soon as bad as i hate to say it,i to will be feeding something else.Several in my area seeing same things, weight loss, poor coats, more stool and having to feed more to maintain a good weight, cant stand it @ $18.70 for 50lb and your hounds look like CRAP!

Don't forget it's winter = COLD + LOTS OF RUNNING for most beagles = more feed. My avg. beagle weighs about 20 lbs. and in the summer, I run 3-4 days/week and feed about 1 cup/day. In the winter, I'm running 4 times/week and feeding just over 2 1/4 cups/day so you have to take the conditions into consideration also. With that being said, my dogs are still doing good on it after 11 months now.

coolbrze,
I have taken it all into consideration. This isn't my first rodeo
When you feed the same food for approximatly 3 years, (that is 3 winters also
) you know what amount of feed that should be working. I'm not only talking about running dogs, I'm also talking about dogs that never get run, droping big time weight. I wish they would straighten it out, because I thought it was the best feed for the money, until this. I can't keep buying something that doesn't work though. If it doesn't change back like it was, unfortunately I will be forced to switch to another company.

only 1 bag to go
I was feeding buddy boy brown bag, and the price kept going up. I was satisifed with the way my dogs looked on it, but i thought for $18.00 a bag I would feed the best, according to all my friends that I run dogs and trial with. So I bought 10 bags of Black Gold(Black). Now my dogs all look like they are ready to die. Like they have been on the B.C. skippy plan. So now I have one bag left, and I am looking for a new dog food. Black Gold DID NOT work for me.
I FEED TWICE AS MUCH BLACK GOLD AS I DID BUDDY BOY, AND MY DOGS HIP BONES ARE STICKING UP......
R- Chaser.

The difficulty is not comming up with new ideas but to undo the old ones.

In Olive Hill, buddy boy is 15.50 a bag for the 24/20. Its at Stephens feed store on the back street. I changed to it with the same trouble with black gold. My dog look 100% better on the Buddy Boy.
If your hounds aren't Fast-n-Furious! They might as well be barking up a Tree!
