I had a dog of mine get an eye injury a couple years ago, used the drops and eye gel and it helped some but would not completey help heal it up. My vet ended up putting a corneal shield over his eye to help it heal. It looks like a contact lens that I would wear. It lasts on the eye for about 10 days or so and dissolves on its own. It done wonders for his eye. The vet also gave me some eye drops (cant remember the name) but it had cortisone in it to eliminate the scarring to the eye. Can't even tell he had it to begin with now.

Using saline to flush it is easier then using a rag and less painful. Pull the lower lid out a little and fill it with saline. Then you only need to use the rag to clean any crud out of the corner of the eye.

Thanks for the peanut butter tip, that is a new one for me. Makes sense though.

Thanks All For Your Help she has a appt. the morning. I wanted her in yesterday but couldn't get throu..Found out their phones were down and one of the ladies called me on her cell to explain..and told me to bring her in at 9am today. I will post the prognosess (sp) as soon as I can.

Well she has a Cornea Ulcer..The vet isn't sure if its from injury or an infection.She is on 2 antibiotics 1 goes in her eye and one she takes oraly. He thinks as long as it wasn't on going ( there but not knowing) that she will be fine in a couple weeks. She isn't blind at least not totaly because she could see the light he was shineing in her eye (she was squinting) he just doesn't know how much of it she sees because of the cloudiness. I am sorry I didn't post earlier but I went straight to bed.. Ella & I were both tired ( I worked last night 3rd's) .

On the brighter side..She gained 2 lbs in 2 wks she weighs in at 6 lbs 4 oz.
