Paid $65 one time for Bruc. test. Needless to say that was my last visit with him. I have a vet now that really works with me on his fees.

my vet charges 25 bucks and it takes 30 minutes tops,BUT,i have been told by a couple guys who have stud dogs that the in house quickee test is not reliable, they will not except it,and the two day lab test is 45 bucks.

that may be the difference in the prices, some vets use the old one and some use the new.[/b]

Danny someone on here may prove this to be wrong, but I was under the
imprestion that the knock on the quick test was the occasional false possitive that would have to be followed up by a send away test and that it did not work the other way. My Vet told me at the time of my last test that there could not be a false negative. I know better than to believe that any thing is 100%, but I believe that the odds are in my favor when I listen to him....LOL

I know they will do 2 tests around here. The one I recommend is about $50 and takes a min. of 2-3 days and up to 6 depending on the vet, to get the results back. The 2nd one is if you are sending a dog out of the country, they do a more in depth test, I don't remember what they charge for that though. I found a new vet that does it for the same price but will have the results back quicker than the vet I currently use, I'm going to try them next time.

By vet had to send the test out so I can understand the $42.45 for the test. I can understand $30 office call. What I didn't understand was the $10.61 blood collection fee until today. This new vet is going to cater to the yuppie crowd. I got a heart worm notice today printed on a half page paper on a magazine called Healthy Pet with actress Roma Downey on it. So i can see were my blood collection fee went. I know this guy is charging for this everytime he draws blood to do a test.
