All jokes aside !!!
I don't know Kevin Monroe and haven't seen Reggie in action but I've heard really good things about Kevin from more than one person and not only his Reggie dog but have heard he has put many great hounds on the ground . I would like to meet him some day
All jokes aside, Reggie is a nice dog. I have judged him in LP twice and he won once under me. Nice all around dog. He can scald a track. It will also be interesting to see what his brother Thunder does up there in Canada, has one win, and only lacks a win in the U.S. to finish. Now wouldnt that be somethin, two IFC's from the same litter! As far as re-producing, we'll see. The only dog out of him that I have run with/against is L&L Ol Red, owned by Rusty Lyons, he's a nice dog, very consistent in the big hunts. Reggie has accomplished a lot in little time, Kevin has put in his time, he's ok even though he is from Ohio. We can at least throw rocks at yall across the river.

Hey J.C., Throw all the rocks you want to, just remember, we can throw them back to! And at least on this side of the river were smart enough to duck! LOL Just kiddin, I just happen to have quite a few close friends over there, and have had more than my fair share of fun in the great state of Kentucky!
Reggies record speaks volumes. Kevin has shown the world that a great one can win in any format. Thats the way it outta be...Hopefully ol thunder will start clicking em off in canada... There is several stud dogs that come to mind for me right now and reggie is one of em . We as a group have choices, god bless the us. There is several great ones out there bred right... I am anxious too see reggies offspring ..Think they will be hitting the lick.
When the moment of truth arrives, the point of preparation has passed.

I want to congradulate Kevin and Reggie on all they have achieved.. Kevin is a great guy and I have no doubts that Reggie is a great hound.. As far as Reggie being a reproducer, I think he could probobly be one of the greats also.. He is out of good reproducers and is already throwing some pretty powerful hounds. I had the chance to see a young female at the World that Kevin was running out of Reggie that looked good to me. I think her name was Summertime and she was like 16 mos. old. She had a good set of wheels, ran a lot of rabbit, and seemed to be a powerful check hound. I don't think anyone could go wrong in trying a Reggie pup...

I never saw Reggie run but have heard all the talk and am very impressed with his record on the circuit.Should be a good reproducer, time will tell.I think Monroe should get a lot of credit though for getting the dog in shape and exposing him to the public. He knows his hounds and what it takes to win.
Amen Bev!! I first must say Congrats to Kevin and Reggie, great guy and great hound both very deserving of this title. However with all this talk of Turbo there is not one mention of his dam. Not to take anything away from Turbo, if I had the chance I would have bred to him myself. But I have seen Reggies dam side up close. I was fortunate enough to own FC Maravics Blue Moon and FC Maravics Blue Jean for the last years of their life. And I can tell you this Blue Moon is the type of bitch WE ALL strive for. She would hunt like a machine, and run to overtake at 11 years old until the night she died. Not only that but the producing power of the Simba/Moon cross is incredible. Stub Barker had 2 sisters to Blue Girl. Maravics Mr Stubs Deanna and Maravics Mr Stubs Dianna. Dee produced in her first litter, Mr Stubs Northern Blue Star, she had 2 lic back to back wins at 14 months old before being killed. Dee also produced 2XNLPC Mr Stubs Little bit Fancy, both these bitches were by different studs. Fancy had 10 lic wins in 1 year and won BB High hound. Dianna produced FC Mr Stubs Nikita in her only litter. Stop and add that up Blue Girl, Dee and DI all littermates. I don't know how many times Blue girl was bred or how many FC she produced but Reggies litter is impressive. I had Pete Youngs Thunder male here last summer and really liked him. I would say lets not forget the bitch side this is just as, if not more, important than the male. Too many times the female gets overlooked and faulty pups get blamed on the stud, likewise great pups give credit to the stud. Let me repeat myself when I say, This is NOT a putdown on Turbo, just looking at BOTH sides of a great hound!! Congrats again Kevin

well said, you know, kevin and i have had this discussion a few times before,he would say that turbo was getting all the credit but he knew the bottom side had a lot to do with it,especialy his ability to lay on the line and pound, the thing i have seen in his pups is the punch out of the check,i was told that turbo had that and reggies bottom side contributed to his line control and hunt.
so i must agree thre, the maravic blood deserves some credit

The dam is the most important part of any breeding. Reggie/thunder are bred nice on top and on the bottom. Blue Girl is line bred Ninja which is another great one that needs to be added to the list of males in his top side:
IFC Maravic's blue Niinja
FC Turbo Powered By Prop
IFC Branko's Heli-Prop
FTC Branko's Jack of all Trades
IFC Able's East Coast Trimmer.
Everyone is hot to breed to reggie, but do the sport a favor and make sure all of these females can circle a rabbit before you breed them. Reggie isn't going to make superstars with broke down females!

I bred my Smokes Creek female to Reggie and feel she is a way above average dog. She has a great nose, drive and desire. The one thing I would say she does lack is line control. She will over run a line quite often but snap back and pick it up again. She is overloaded with hunt and desire. She will go into the biggest pushup piles and either push the rabbit out or bring it out. I would be happy to have this litter of pups be just like her with the line control of Reggie. I have read on here alot that you should bred for what your dog lacks and my female lacks line control. And I have also read on here that breeding is nothing more than a roll of the dice. The question I have is how far back in a dogs pedigree will have any affect on the breeding ? There are some awesome dogs in Reggies and Bea's ped's.
Congrats to Kevin and Reggie. There had to be a lot of time and effort for this to happen. Reggie has to be special to accomplish all that he has.
You ask an interesting question that I have seen on here before.
Some people only care about or say what’s in the last 3 generations is what counts. I have seen a female throw a red pup when all the dogs were tri-color for 10 generations except one red dog in the sixth generation.
I don't know how far back it matters however, breeding to a dog like Reggie with his background gives you a better chance as long as the female is a good dog.
