What a sad thought....I sure hope you all find out it was something other than someone who did this. I have to admit, I have wondered before if people were low enough to do this.

Is there any chance they got into a box of rat poison that you all overlooked when chaining them up? or were they too far away from each other to get to the same box?

Sorry to hear this.

Best to you all.

Truly sorry for your loss Danny! It's sad to hear that someone might have done something like this, but it sounds too convenient for that many dogs to get sick.

Sorry for your loss Danny as that is totally enough to deal with but the thought of someone doing something crazy to an innocent dog really puts it over the top. Sounds to localized to be coincidental but lets remember to rely on only facts as the recourse could be pretty drastic for someone low enough to poison a dog and the NOT knowing for sure could drive a man senseless.

Danny I just heard about Dozer, and I just cant nelieve it. I have heard of it being done before on dogs when there was a lot of money being bet, but I can't imagine it being done to any of our beagles. If I can help in any way let me know.

Not sure but could it be the dog food recall

Post by weaver240000 »

Hey sorry about your lose. Im not sure about the details but is it possible the dog ate food out of the recall. I thought that rat poison is the main reason for the recall?

Guys if someone did this on purpose & it could be proven I think the LAW would be the ones to handle it . File your reports and have everyone else affected do the same .

HEY DANNY,
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DOZER, IT IS HORRIBLE TO THINK SOMEONE MIGHT BE SO LOW, AND SCUMMY. WHEN YOU LOOSE A GOOD DOG LIKE THAT ITS HARD ENOUGH TO SWALLOW LET ALONE THINKING SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE DONE IT. HOPE THE FEMALE AND OTHER DOGS PULL THROUGH.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I am wondering along the same lines as Cindy...were they possibly sharing food? Also the recalls on the dog food have expanded to include more brands now.....wasn't one of those brands was it?

Danny;
Sorry to hear about your loss .It doesnt sound like an accident but I hope I am wrong.I do disagree with the vet about it taking a lot of poison to kill a dog though. We had a house dog almost die due to eating just a very small amount of mouse poison.I think the Vet treated her with vitamin K but that has been 5 or 6 years ago so I may be wrong.Again sorry about your loss and I hope you get to the bottom of it.

I'm sorry to hear of such a tragic thing. In a way, I hope it was a box of rat poison somebody just forgot to pick up. I know it doesn't bring back those fine hounds, but I'd much rather think it was an accident instead of something intentional. :( Sorry again about your loss.

i appreciate that people are inerested in what happened and i am sorry i have not responded,my computer is still down, the last i had heard was as of friday the female was still living but in bad shape, forest left a message on the guys phone to let us know how she is.

she was tied out in a different section of the barn as dozer but within 10-15 feet of him.she was right beside 2004 world champ scooter,if it was on purrpose that would make one think someone was targetting wrld ch stud dogs.scooter is fine but was sick friday morning.dozers half brother woody was right next to dozer.he is fine but still not right.

i believe dozer and scooter where targeted, vet said it takes 2 to 4 days to make them sick, and seven to kill if they ate enough and he must have, obviously so.

i will be contacting arha tommorow and will call the athorities in indiana.

when we staked the dogs out,we removed two wooden wire spools used to hold cable, and a few pieces of wood and looked the entire area over,it was clean and had wood chips out,we cleaned the area daily,no dog stayed in one spot the whole time,we moved them around often ,dozer, stretch, blue boy and spirit where all tied in that coner by the female so if some poison was just laying around why ain they sick?

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened out there,

i just think back to the two day period of thurs and fri of the world, champion pairings where posted both days, friday he ran, yeah there was contriversy in his cast and after, people where reported to the moh and watchdog commitee, was anything done,no,so why would anyone target him, there was no reason that i could think of other than personal hate or maybe take out two wld ch stud dogs that does not leave many now does it?

if someone had a personal grudge or problem with me why take it out on an inocent dog?none of them dogs had any idea what was going on out there, who was winning, who was cheating or anything,so why was a dog targeted?

i will tell you why,
personal cowardly hate and jelousy
or
personal economical gain
if you kill two world shamps how many are left to breed to?

seems funny that poison incedents happen in the immediate area of two world champs, and no we did not share food so you can rule that out,i had food from home and kevin fed food from the hunt.

Danny,
I am very sorry to hear of your loss but after keeping up with this post it appears to me that in some twisted way, you are starting to point fingers towards me. I would hope that even though your cast against me did not go as expected. You dont think ol jimmie is in on this. Maybe i am reading too deep into it. But thats just how i am reading it. So why dont you tell me.
