Shot a dozen or so. Ate a few and gave the rest away to people from old school who love rabbit but are too old to hunt or no longer hunt. Will probably take a half dozen more before the end of the season. I try to keep it under a few dozen a year.
I like to let the dogs circle them a few times before I even consider shooting after kill one of the day.

Unsure of exact numbers other than we've killed 53 in our last 5 hunts. I'm pretty sure we are up between 150 and 200. We've had some really good hunts, and we've put a lot of rabbits in holes. We put 6 or 8 in holes today, ontop of the 7 we got. On one of our hunts, 4 hunters for 2 hours 45 min. 16 rabbits shot, and the dogs caught two. I couldn't really expect anything more than 6+ rabbits per hour

Hunt's
Between my buddy and me we have 53 killed with about 150 jumped in about 20 hunts, We still have untill the end of Feb, and we just got about 3 inch of snow so i'm feeling alittle sick, "might have to call off work for a few days" LOL! This year my buddy and I have been working too much. Last year we killed right around 100 and the year before that about 153.

We have shot a dozen or so and thats usually it for my dogs each year. I don't jump-shoot and we only shoot when the rabbit has been circled, usually I just let my 12 year old shoot and listening to my dogs run. We don't have any private places left to hunt anymore as everything here in Maryland is being developed and bought by builders..

we always let the hounds get at least one full circle in, and generally let them run the first one 2-3 circles. the only time we shoot is when the hounds have really ran a good race...and the bunny presents a good shot. That's hard to do on those good scenting days, when all you usually see is a gray blur running by.!.....I'm really suprised that some of you guys only do 6-10 hunts a year.! I'm a BIG advocate of putting them under the gun, the ultimate trial..!!
