Where was the first picture taken? It resembles a castle I visited up in New York. I believe the castle was Hart Castle located in the Thousand Island region.

Ummm, Dan told me the details on that castle - he's a walking history book, but I cannot remember the history. Perhaps he will post an answer to those questions if he signs back on to give me some more grief over something (lmao).
Here's the full pic for those of you who want to see it a bit closer up. It really is an amazing structure. The pic is too big so click on the link to see it, right click, save it to your computer and you can see quite a bit of detail:

I thought that was the place. My sister and husband were stationed at Fort Drum in Watertown and we took the boat tour. That was a beautiful castle. Too bad the man's wife never got to enjoy it, I believed she became ill and died before the completion. It was also hard to believe the water was so pure that people that lives there can drink straight out of the river. Thanks for sharing with us Bev and bringing back some beautiful memories.

Those who work the hardest will be rewarded in the end.
My pleasure patchhounder. I'm happy to bring folks some
"off the beaten path" photos I get when I travel to the trials.
I guess I just want everyone to take the trips with me...
see things throuch my eyes - even if it's after the fact.
I'm glad it brought back a good memory for you.
Perhaps I too can take the boat trip to the Boldt Castle one day, and I'll post more pics.
As beautiful as the scenery on the Thousand Islands/St. Lawrence River was, it was equally beautiful in the woods
and during the trial. I hope the fear of cold weather never keeps anyone from visiting a trial in Canada.
It was 10 degrees and snowy, but I spent much of my trip outdoors in it,
and I didn't think about the cold.
There was too much beauty, and fellowship of other beaglers to soak in to even think about it.
Here's another pic that will explain my joy of being in the woods regardless of the weather:

Is there ever a prettier sight than watching a good dog pick a track on snow that's so hard he doesn't punch through it?
