Has anyone seen a dog do this?

Big Dog I had the same problem with my young male, if you go to Beagle healt, on 4th page, oct 26, 2004 there is a discussion about running fits,
I have used Nutri-cal for a while now, and I had no more problem.

Good Luck> Joe

Sounds like running fits to me.I'd lay him up for awhile.Rest and forget so to speak.Give him time to replenish his overall condition.Mental and physical.

The nutrical may help as well if he continues to do later.I know people that swear by it.

Running Fits

Post by HH Bayou Meto Beagles »

I've seen this happen seemed like almost a seizure. It didn't happen all the time and impossible to predict. Eyes glazed , tail down run to the truck and circle it as if it was being chased.
Good luck,

We use to call it a running fit. The dog doesn't even know you. Thje foot is NOT the way to go. Try candy!

I had a young dog that would do something similiar. He would get out of the chase and run to a thicket and hide acting crazy. It took him a while before he would come out of the thicket. He did this about four times. I switched dog foods (less protein) and had no more trouble with this young hound. I think it has to do with too much pressure on the body and mind. Like a yound athlete thrown in with the big boys. Some can handle some get scared! I also had a female that would have seizures, and the vet gave her a once a day pill. Worked about 85% of the time. I never bred her because of it.

I posted my own problem here a while ago that sounds the same. I do not think it is a sugar or epileptic fit of any kind. Not sure what it is though. See these views: http://www.beagleboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=1207
