BLACK BART, You my friend seem to understand what we are talking about. :D :D :D I agree with you 100%, why wouldn't a true houndsmen want the very best he could have. Maybe some time in the future we could get a chance to turn them lose and let the cream rise to the top.

Black Bart, how long has your dream dog been dead and what was his bloodline?

How is it that everyone determines cold nosed?

It's been my experience that a real cold nosed dog is rare, yet everyone but me seems to have them..... :???:

NEWT--- THIS DOG HAS BEEN DEAD ABOUT 6 YEARS BUT I HAVE ANOTHER ONE NOW. WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANYONE SHOW ME THERE COLD NOSE DOG CAN PRODUCE AND FINISH MORE RABBITS THAN HE CAN. I HAVE HUNTED WITH A LOT OF SO CALLED COLD NOSED DOGS AND SEEN THEM COME IN AND HE WOULD STRAITEN THE RABBIT WHILE THEY WERE LAYING IN PONDS AND MUD HOLES. LISTEN BOYS I'M NOT ON HERE TO CRITIZE YOUR DOGS OR YOUR PREFERANCE IN A DOG. WE ALL LIKE DIFFERENT STYLES. I PERSONALLY WILL NOT KEEP A DOG THAT RUNS WITH IT'S HEAD DOWN, AS THIS IS AN INDECATION OF A DOG THAT LACKS NOSE, TO ME. AS I SAID I HAVE BEEN PRIVELEGED TO OWN SEVERAL DOGS THAT WERE HONEST( COMPLETELY) THAT COULD JUMP AND POUND A RABBIT IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER AND TERRAIN. IF YOU HAVE NOT I HOPE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO FIND OR HUNT WITH ONE. I ONCE SAID THAT A TRUE RABBIT DOG, IS A RABBIT DOG FROM THE NORTH POLE TO SOUTH POLE, FROM EAST TO WEST. HAVE BEEN HUNTING IN SEVERAL STATES, ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF RABBIT AND ALWAYS FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE ! HAVE FOUND THE GREATEST ASSET IN A RABBIT DOG TO BE THE DESIRE TO PRODUCE A RABBIT AND OVER TAKE IT, WITH THE BRAINS TO KNOW HOW TO ADJUST TO TO ACHEIVE THIS PURPOSE. WITH RESPECT I SAY HUNT WHAT PLEASES YOU, AND DON'T PUT DOWN WHAT PLEASES THE OTHER MAN. THE DOGS BREEDING WAS NORTH WAY TOP AND BOTTOM.

Blackbart,

With due respect, where are you located? I would like to see your hound if at all possible. I am ALWAYS looking for one to improve my enjoyment in the field, maybe he is the next one I breed to, who knows?

This is not a joke as I take my hounds seriously. I WANT to find the dogs that destroy mine with the traits I like. I don't care what line they are if they can reproduce the same on a consistant basis. I have NEVER nor will EVER fail to tell someone they have a great hound if I see it for what it is. THANK YOU!!

:check: :check: :check: :check: :check: :check: :check:" nose down is an indication of a dog that lacks nose " right on brother right on.... and i assume that your male will put his nose down when he has to , but i bet its up when hes rockin... and i would also guess that that he aint saying anything when hes on a loose... My kinda hound... :D let me know if you decide to let bc beagles watch your male go,, for i to have a head up running male that i would love to show him.... im pretty sure we live pretty close... in the words of my mentor Mr Courter.... C-low: Are you saying that Bart has the perfect hound like the one that died? You sound a little cynical. Since you live so close to Blackbart, and are looking for a good dog, why don't you two get together and run? Or can't Ol' Stubby meet the criteria Bart lays down? Just wondering.

Every dog has a price C-low. Perhaps you just aren't offering enough. Make it where he can't refuse. Course, this kind of dog would bring more money in Michigan than it does down there!! Tell Bart, I am looking especially hard for that kind of dog. Especially hard!!

Dog that keeps his head down is lack of Nose???? No disrespect intended. I know most of you guys like a lot stronger dog. I feel sure most of you would find these dogs boring but they are going to run the rabbit.
