Hey Danny. A friend of mine owns a dog out of that litter that is now 14 months old and has caught two rabbits already. When I sold you the dog he was giving mouth and running with his dam. If that isn't started I don't know what is. No, he wan't finished - just started like a 4 1/2 month old well bred dog is capable of at that age. Your time line on the dogs death is off a bit too. No other dogs died from that litter and you told me he was bleeding out. You said it was a genetic defect. I don't buy it. It's called parvo Danny. I have never had parvo in my kennel. Out of 9 puppies the only one that died was in your kennel. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened. Or maybe he was rat poisoned, or one of your bulldogs killed him, or how many other posts have you made about your dogs dieing in your kennel.danny vansickle wrote:bill (flint river ) wrote:what gets me going if he was at a trial , 90% of the clowns would be over kissing branko ass. but over the internet are talking with out any clue. i my self have a ton of respect for what branko did for us beaglers. i have also talked to the man and LISTEN TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY.
Danny u should be a hole lot nicer to ED. because that pup u have was his pick, he was one hella of a man to give u his pup after the on u had died of parvo. HOW MANY PUPS HAVE U LOST TO PARVO ??? and wasnt he started when ed gave him to ya. u are burning bridges faster then they can be built.
Bottom line shipping and crate fees coast money, drive up to his place and pick a pup up. he has no control over air fare.
ed did not GIVE him to me,he told me the dog was started and charged me an extra 100 bucks for him, needless to say,he was not started at all,it took forest kerns a month to get him goin,he was a decent dog, just had absolutely no foot at all,
250 for the first dog
100 for 2nd
100 in gas 2 trips to eds house
50 to start him
that is 600 bucks.........far from giving me a dog.
and the first one died within a week and a half of getting home.
as far as the acctual topic started hear i feel that the dogs branko is selling now are not the calibre of dog they had ten yr ago,so why such a high price?
i agree they did a lot for the beagle world in the past.
my experience was with freida, not branko, she was rude, and called around running her mouth just cause i changed my mind on buying a running dog, when i was willing to spend 1200 bucks, she was super nice, when i called and told her i changed my mind, she threw a fit, told me i was screwing up cause their dogs are the best and win more than any other, then she called two people running her mouth.
yeah,i have never met them,if it was ok for to to slander me,then what is good for the goose is good for the gander,i am sure if i had spent the 1200 plus shipping.she would be nice every time i call, all i did was change my mind.
obviously you all have made your mind up,you worship branko so be it,it is your choice, but i am done arguing, fell free to slam away,i can care less,i am happy with what i am running in my pack,so are you all,so who cares.
ed,as far as me flip flopping,i didn't want to say anything bad about a dog from your kennel, yet you would not lay off me,so there it is,he was a decent hound, but no trial dog.
i am done,if you all feal childish enough to pick this post apart and make fools out of yourseves even more by twistin my words,i could care less.
Don't Pm me asking for a truce then come on here five minutes later talking smack.

thanks danny and masons i check into that i also like the superdog branko cross tons of hunt all the litter of 5 could circle a rabbit at 6 months i think the superdog puts the hunt in cant wait a yr or so to see how it works i also agree with danny that not all brankos are for everone because i dont like the warlock pups or aliba but i love the the heli prop blood just my 2 cents

danny and ringo don't know either one of you. I am sure both of you have some great dogs. I think both of you have gotten your point across to each other. Instead of badmouthing each other on the internet maybe you two should meet half way and settle your differences and charge for us to watch and then we can give the money to a needy Charity. Remember we are all beaglers and yes we all have not gotten the dogs that we thought we should be getting for our money, but what I don't think may be a good dog someone else may think it is great. There is not many of us houndsmen left and when the younger generation looks at how we quarrel they may think twice about getting into Beagling.

My apologies for getting off topic and being so passioate about this subject. I do agree that we as houndsmen who all love beagling should be supporting beagling and fellow beaglers past and present if this sport is to survive.
This will be my last post on this subject and I really have nothing more to add. In summary, to each his own and hopefully no matter what you pay for your beagle pup, if the buyer and the seller are satisfied then is there really anything to debate?

Pretty touchy post but without branko? The great ones of today would not be here. Dont know how much power they pocess now, but when he first hit the trial scene in arha.I had nothing for him, different style than i ran that pretty much WAXED ALL OF US. I for one appreciate there contributions, to beagling as they redirected the face of beagling. They have made excellent crosses in years past. I dont think they are quite done yet, I also ran against mystery man a few years back, i thought he showed more intelligence than the judge that picked us both up...........

When the moment of truth arrives, the point of preparation has passed.

Danny,
If you are not going to buy one of Branko's pups, why does it matter what they charge? I couln't care less if they charged 2,000.00 for their pups. I have bought 3 running dogs from them in the past. One was exactly what they said it was, it just turned out to be a little too rough for me. (and if you know what I run that should tell you how rough it was! LOL). One was a female that I couldn't raise pups from. ( Maybe just bad luck?) One was a male that had a lot of tools, but would run mute in a pack of 4 or 5 dogs or more. Needless to say that I am not satisfied over all. If I ever were to buy another dog from them, I would make the trip up and watch it go before I spent that kind of money. I was foolish, but live and learn. I will say they were courteous to me, but I was sending them money and that will sometimes make people a little nicer. None of us can take away from what they have accomplished. They have, in my opinion, done more that anyone to improve beagling.
Let me say also, that every dog in my kennel has a substantial amount of Branko's bloodline in them. I do like what they have to offer.

This post is still not back on track. The subject is NOT about the dogs that came from their kennel four, six or ten years ago, it IS about what is coming out of their kennel in the years 2006 and 2007.
Lets keep this on track. Everyone knows that great dogs came from that kennel in the past. Lets here about the hounds of TODAY...

Gentlemen,
I always thought that the purpose of a forum like this was for people to have a common place to get together and dicuss a sport that they love and to learn from each other. I've now read 10 pages of grown men fighting with each other about their own opinions. The great thing about opinions is that everyone can have their own and I don't have to care about them. I can chose to agree or disagree.
I learned along time ago from my grandfather that life in the woods will always be better if you follow one simple rule:
Don't insult a man's wife, truck, or dog. The rest is just details.
Let's get back to enjoying this great sport instead of cutting each other down.
