Take the pup out with the older dog SOME if you trust it. The dog just needs to be taken out where the rabbits are.
Good luck, AV

What I normaly do is, take the youngster out on a lead, and leave the experienced hounds run the rabbit, and try to position the pup where I, and he can see the rabbit, and put him there to smell the line, when he gets that "I wanna go after that smell" look, I cut im loose.

Bill Bennett wrote a great book on training beagles to hunt rabbit. There is a section on introducing a second pup with a proven hunter. (Beagle Basics: Training of the Hunting Beagle) I used his methods training my beagle Sadie! She's one of the best I've ever had!! You can get the book from almost any book store!
I WISH I COULD BE AS GOOD A PERSON AS MY BEAGLE THINKS I AM!

How many ways can you ask the SAME question? This is like the 10th thread you have started about starting a pup!

I don't mean to sound rude, but geeze, seems like you could have gotten something out of the first 9 posts.

Just do a search on starting pups or on your name. I am sure that all the previous posts with the replies will show up and maybe even some more.
