dog ?

Post by jeff33 »

Ok this may be a dumb question. I took my dog to the vet and it had a a knot underneath the skin. He said it was a Hernea. Has anyone else had a dog that has had one and had it fixed. Will it come back or will it be gone for good? Her surgery is wed. 21. Does the surgery affect the dog long term?

Thanks for any info.

Thanks xdawg and southernbeagles for the info. I wish more would reply becasue I want to hear some more about a dog having herneas. Has anyone ever had pups from a female who has had the hernia fixed? I am very worried about her but I was wanting to breed her. I may not be able to breed her though.

I had a female that I had a double hernia on her. Had it fixed. Was able to start running her again after about a month. She had 2 litters off pups after. It never came back.
Lets put em where it counts under the gun

I had a female also that had the surgery at about 3 years old, she came thru with flying colors and had a couple of litters after that. Hope this helps. Hare

You all dont know how much I appreciate the info. Maybe she will be ok. I am hoping to champion her out. She has two 3rds and has been in only 2 hunts. Both at differnt clubs. She is the only dog I have ever had good enough to win and now this comes up.
