SNOW!!!!!!!

Post by Blu Tick Beagler »

I just got my first iniation to the North!!! Looked out the window and saw about 8" of fresh snow. Wasn't here about 6 hours ago when I got to work. Better go home and put the plow on the truck so I can get in and out of the driveway!!!Anyway.. everyone else enjoy your green grass..LOL

We got about an inch or two the other night, but it's starting to melt off already here in Iowa.

Blu Tick Beagler, welcome to the Lake Erie Snow Machine. Sometimes its pretty funny, we'll get a foot of snow and you can drive 30 minutes south and they have green grass. Can't wait to run tomorrow, now I'll be able to see those bunnies a little better.

I had a crew of workers stranded on I-90 east of Mentor yesterday because of snow.I worked in Canfield(65 miles south) and the sun was shining.

So much for going home and putting the plow on the truck. Right after I sent this message yesterday the snow machine welcomed my wife and kids to the snow belt. I received a phone call that my truck was on it's roof on SR 167. Everyone was fine.. Thank goodness my dog box wasn't in the back..LOL And I get a NEW truck!!!

Glad to hear everyone is ok, I have often thought about getting a new vehicle that way. However, I have yet to get into an accident using snow as an excuse. Or, even gone into the ditch because of it. Heck, I don't even let snow stop be from going anywhere, it may slow me down but it doesn't stop me.

I made it across OH in Jan of 92 during one of the worst snow storms to hit the area since the blizzard of 77 or 78 (or so I was told later). It took me an extra 4 hours to get across the turnpike. Sometimes I was doing 25 mph with the emergency flashers on so I didn't get run over from behind. Trying to pass someone was almost pointless. By the time you got around them, your headlights were packed so much with slush/snow you had to stop and clean them off and then you were right behind them again. :D

Glad to hear everyone was ok. Seems like the first snow of the season that happens to alot of people. Tell your wife she's not alone, I was listening to the scanner and there were plenty of accidents.
