First Litter

Post by Schag »

Just wanted to write and publically thank everyone who has given me advice on raising my first litter of pups. For some, more than others, my constant phone calls and emails probably drove them nuts. Sorry guys, but THANKS! Everyone who I called or emailed were very knowledgeable and supplied me with good advice. You fellas will be happy to know that I wrote down everything, kept a log of the pups, and will not have as many questions if I in fact decide to ever raise a litter of pups again. (One litter in 20 years of owning beagles!) But, I am happy I did it and hopefully the guys who are getting them will put them in the WEEDS!!

Special thanks to Mike Powers, Lynn Perkins, Farrell Smith, SR Patch, Dennis Paulson and anyone else who I emailed or called. Thanks again guys. It goes to show that there are still good people in our sport! Here are some pictures of the pups at 5 1/2 weeks old. Also, thanks again Mike for supplying me with the mommy of these pups. Zena is everything you said she would be. Hopefully, the pup you get will be equally nice!

Where did you get the material for your pens?
If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Thanks for the compliments. I am not sure where the material from the pen came. But the pen was made by Jay Hershberger. I do not have his phone number, I am not sure if he has a phone. Sorry.

The pups' sire is Maravic's Mr. Stub's Timberjack.

Looks like a job well done by you and mommy. It is never a task to talk with a friend, anytime i can be of assistance, you have all info to get in touch with me.
I'm always pleased to get to speak with you on these little hounds and have gained much info from our conversations as well.

I'm still wondering when you are coming this way for a hunt, love to see hounds on video running in these moutains, may have to hire a heli-copter for you to get in close though

Lynn,

The pups really turned out nice. I hope the cross turns out nice on rabbit! Hey, I hear congrats are in order for the Little World. Nicely done. Your hard work is paying off!

I appreciate the invitation once again to come down but I don't know if my dogs are in that kind of shape for mountain climbing! (I am not in shape either!) Like the old saying goes, one of these days...By the way, you have an open invitation to come up and run some of these Ohio bunnies with me. Once again, thanks for your advice on the pups. Hopefully, you will hear some good things out of them.

Jason
