I like my hounds to be 14 to 15 inches. I believe size does not make a difference in them going thru Briars just may slow them down a little. If the dog is a briar buster it is a briar buster. If a dog won't go thru the nasty stuff I don't have any room for it in my kennel. Most of my hunting ground is thick briars. My dogs will belly crawl if they have to to get thru it.

I hunt in some pretty thick, nasty areas. I have a big male that is probably over 15." And he can go through briars as well as any sized beagles. I seen him bust through them and I've also seen him going under them on his belly. I think its much more about heart and desire than size when talking about the thick stuff. Now I have very little experience w/ snow.

Crew,
Since Johnny Cochran is no longer avavilable, perhaps you would like to represent me. The Dam only had the two pups long legs and a 14'' female. Since you say one of them is not a beagle, perhaps you can get my 100.00 stud refunded ? Just a thought.

LOL
HAVE A BLESSED DAY

I perfer a smaller dog 12 to 13",I have not found that size does not dictate running speed, nose speed does this. Its alot easier to lift 15 pounds in and out of the truck(lol).
