The same thing happened when they came out with the S series. They made changes on how the collars are turned off and on and came out with a new charging system. Im sure in both cases they had some trouble with the units during thier testing and had to do some changes which pushed things back.
They pretty much redesigned the whole system this time and im sure they had several glitches with them that they had to take care of.
I usually wait for a while before I buy something that just came out but ive had pretty good luck with the Tri-Tronics stuff.

Here I did all my homework and decided on the Classic 70 XLS two dog system. Now I see the manufacturer has come out with the Sport G2 series and the Multi-Sport G2 series. Can anyone explain the difference?
I believe the Classic 70 XLS has a working range of 1 miles where the new G2 series is 1/2 mile???
I'd hope the 70 XLS should would be good enough to run a couple of beagles with.

The G2 has a two mile range and both the transmitter and collars are smaller, with shorter charging times than the classic 70. It is made of lexan and should be sturdy.

They dont make the XLS anymore. Everything is the new G2 series. They make the Sport G2 series(which I dont think has much range to it), the Classic G2 series (which has a 1 mile range) and the Trashbreaker G2 series(which has a 2 mile range).

I dont think they are being totally honest with you. Dont expect to see them till at least the 19th, probably more like the 26th.

Tri-tronics told me not to expect shipment until at least the 15th of Aug. and maybe not till the end of the month. And that is what I am telling everyone that is wanting to buy one.

Last year I purchased the Classic 70 6-Dog unit. I know the G-2 is the same unit just 1/3 lighter, & 1/3 smaller. My feeling on this matter is I really enjoy my Classic 70, & most things like the G-2 take a year or more after they are on the market to work the bugs/kinks out.

If I were in the market for a new E-Collar, I’d purchase the Classic 70 Series or wait till next fall to consider the G-2.

I’ve owned & tested most brands of E-Collars. Tritronis is “State Of The Arts” in the E-Collar business.
* I enjoy meeting new Beaglers & Squirrel Dog Owners. It's a blessing to find other's with such unique interests.
* I also enjoy helping future hunters.

I would rather them work all the bugs out then put a faulty product on the market. Fom what I read about them it will be worth the wait.

I'd say your real close to the truth. The new 6-dog came out and everyone who had more than a couple of hounds wanted one. The dealers ordered them big time, then, TT came out with the new and improved G2 series.
IMO, TT should come out with a dealer pricing rebate on the old 6-dog, to keep from sticking their dealers with the now outdated models but don't kid yourself, they'd rather it all be passed on to you...
Kinda like when we were kids, remember playing "hot potato"...lol
