Yea !! I stand and guard the holes and clean up the mess where the others make . I hate a wounded rabbit running under ground , Plows pop gun is a .410 with a 14" barrel he uses 410 shorts and someone has to clean up after him. I have trouble telling if Plowboy is missing because of that pop gun or is it from the tears in his eyes because his dogs is taken a whooping, LOL I don't know what he would mean about bull , I'm always serious. I'll join in if I can get something that will keep up with all that patch stuff.

tnbeagleman,
I went to your website. You have some nice looking hounds.
Mapquest says your about 130 miles from me, which would be about 2.5 hour drive I'm guessing. Maybe you would have someplace around there for a few of us to get together and run hounds. It would save Darrin a couple hours off of his trip. Just an idea.
If you boys are more inclined, we can do it here. Lots and lots of acres to rabbit hunt.
Clouse/wt called me tonight and sounds like he had some excellent running all day.
Either way, I'd just like to get some of us together for some fellowship,
running dogs and popping bunnies. Who knows, my wife is a good cook, maybe we could get her to fix some vittles (victuals to some of you). I can't guarantee it though. :D

Hey Red!!! Ya still luv me man? :D

Tom.......they won't let you retire at 36 man, just so you don't embarrass yourself........... :yikes:

running dogs

Post by clousewt »

I have been working my dogs out early in the morning and late in the evening, I am cursed with dog fever, the real kick in the butt is, and I quote my wife, " you paid good money for those dogs and they deserve to get out and run". I almost passed out, can you believe it, she is forcing me to run the dogs! lol I love this woman with all my heart, would not trade her for all the tea in china. She is awesome when it comes to running dogs though, her grandpa trains coonhounds and she grew up helping him with them so she knows dogs too. I cant wait for the hunt you guys are planning, Darrin I dont have anything to compete with Tater Patch but I do have a couple that are getting the hang of things. Bopeye has a couple that will give you a run for your money though. Talk at you later I gotta go run the dogs, its a chore but somebody has to do it, lol Tom Clouse

Tom, I know what line of dogs you have and know what they can do....you got plenty of dog power over there, I know that! They can run with anything out there and hold their own.

I just hope I can keep going as much as I have been. They are starting to do some good stuff. Had 3 races the other morning, they circled one rabbit 2 and a half times before he went to the whole or they lost it. They kept getting faster and faster with it. I took them out last night for 30 minutes before dark, they ran one for 25 minutes, I was tickled with them. Ivy even let loose with a booming chop every now and then. I sure hope she continues to use that chop instead of her squeal.

Red, I am glad you got them, I was tired of trying to run with them. lol

All this talk is priming me up so much I was thinking about shooting a chicken out of the barn loft just to smell powder.lol

I know TNbeagleman, I probably would only knock out a feather or two.

I can't wait until that first frost, maybe I'll be out of the sweet corn patch by then. lol

Reminds me of the movie "Young Guns" when that old boy got into the spirit world and was blasting at that huge chicken.
Too funny........

Tom Clouse and I had some non stop running this evening. I'm guessing the dogs hammered for around 4 hours. What a blast!!
I about lost my little four month old Patch female I got from Red, she went with the dogs and was gone a couple of hours. I was heart sick.
Next thing I know, here she comes out at the same spot she had went in.
Scared me to death. :yikes:
