Stud Dog Question

Post by magic_rabbit_hunter »

Suppose I was looking to make a few bucks just to be able to buy me a new female to put into my kennel. I was just wondoring if I could put a stud ad on some of these sites where you can for my dog Magic. I have two probloms. #1 Does he have to be registered, because hes not. I don't even know his pedigree, but I do know he is a great hunting beagle. And I know he stands at 14". #2 Do I have to send him anywhere or do they bring their female to me. I don't know how that stud thing works. If anyone knows anything about stud dogs just give me all the details please. I am kind of confused.

Magic
There is a lot more to studding out a Dog than just let them go at it. Most Folks are looking for a dog to better or enhance thier lines. A lot of research goes into this Such as the Dogs line Does the Dog have any Helth Issues in its line such as condradistrophy, brucilosis, Ect. Do you know for a fact Where your Dog originated of who His parents might be? Did they have any health Problems What was thier Conformation like were they benchlegged or to Straight in the front? Not knockin your Idea BUT I myself would not breed to a dog that I didnt know its history. And then you come to the Money end of it Do you have the Money up front for the Health test the Dog will need? do you know the history on the Bitch is she agressive Will she tear into your male?(Vet bill) Has she or her line hads any health problems? Most folks I know are not going to pay that much for a stud or breeding A lot just want a Pup. You Have plenty of time So slow down have patience these things take time.

Ok I guess I see what you mean. I think when I get older and get some more money I am going 2 keep quite a few dogs and get dogs out of already established bloodlines and start branching off into my own bloodline and then feild trial them make them champs and stud them off. Sounds like a plan.....or more like a dream either way its my goal.

Magic not everyone has to have a papered dog. Run him in the AHRA or UKC if he does well stud him out. You'll get a few takers. Swings Board International Beaglers has free stud ads,I think Blackdirt has free ads to. I've never seen a paper run a rabbit.

Well rabbit hunting has always been my passion I love deer hunting to, but not to many people understand why I love rabbit hunting more. At first I wasn't sure, but then when I got my beagles its so much better and I don't know if its that I love rabbit hunting or if its that I just love the beagles. So I know that I defineitly want to do that. People tell me that when I get older I won't feel so strongly about beagles, but I am convinced I will.
