Wanted: Lemon stud

Post by PaMatt »

I have a 3 yr old Lemon/wht female that Im interested in breeding. She's AKC and a very good gun dog, beatiful light blonde markings, pinknose, lips and gold/yellow eyes. I'll provide pedigree info. to anyone interested. Im looking for a light colored lemon male from good hunting lines, no need to be a field champ but must be a hunter and pedigreed.
Ill post a couple pics of my dog.....we want to have a litter....I am new to beagles and just love this dog, I want a pup from her. If anyone has or knows someone who has a similiar stud dog pleas PM me. We live in south central Pa and hope to find someone within "reasonable" distance. ThanksImage

If you are looking in the PA area, you may want to contact Jim Campbell from Tyrone, PA. He has lemon and white Patch males, along with the tri-colors. I have seen them run and have judged them and they are true "gun-dogs". PM me and I can give you his contact information.

Matt, I live too far away for a breeding (Eastern Ky) but I have a 7 yr old Northway male that would pass for a littermate to your female except that he has the typical long Northway nose. Is your female out of Northway breeding? Just curious. By the way, she's a very nice hound.

Rabbitdawg....

Several people have told me to contact Jim Campbell.....I have contacted a guy at Bald Eagle Beagles in Tyrone Pa that breeds patch hounds....Is that the same guy? The name on the website is not Campbell.....I am in the process of sending him my pups pedigree since he will ONLY breed to dogs from patch hound lines.......so we'll see, some great looking dogs in the Lemon contest here, Im a new member an relatively new to the beagle breed as well. Seems like a great site so far!

DRamey........

Not sure what lines are in her pedigree.....really havent looked at them sinnce we got her, this is my first beagle....always had labs, but I love this dog and want a pup from her...we bought her from a couple in southern Lancaster county Pa......they only bred lemons and he ran the father for us .....he impressed me and we picked this pup....I know he had field trialed his dogs and he told me what dogs were in the bloodlines but honestly Im not familiar with them anyway.... but I need to check the bloodlines and do a little research on them.

paMatt,

John Lehner, Jr. (bald eagle beagles) and Jim Campbell run dogs with each other, they both run and breed the patch line. Jim Campbell might only stud his dogs out to pure patch females as well.

I"m not sure of their names anymore, I may have it somewhere.....I need to check it out, I think your dog is closely related to my dog, I remeber the Jamison Hollow name and FF Tipper name from my dogs papers.......gotta check my dogs papers but I remember that Tipper name in her lines...close..... Ill check it out and let ya know, The breeder mine came from lives in southern Lancaster County....not that far from you , very easy they are related, maybe from the same breeder?? We jsut moved a week ago so I need to dig out her Pedigree!

ok pamatt,

I will wait until you get the pedigree out. I think i know the person you got your dog from. I'm pretty sure it isn't the same breeder. But if they live in Nottingham, Pa then i know who it is.

I am not sure how far you would consider "reasonable" distance, but in Pike Co. KY, John Smith has a lemon and white Grand Champion male, that is 1/2 Patch and 1/2 Northway, that seems to be throwing good pups. I own some myself.
