Hey Pat, Hank is turning out to be a good looking hound. Im glad he is doing good for you. My wife's uncle has two of these pups but he has not hunted them yet. Keep me posted on his progress.

What? No stacked pictures for me? ;)

From what I can see he looks very nice to me! Looks like he has nice rib and bone and length of neck. I would love to see a picture of his face. You should check out the 'Beagles On TV" thread....................

Getting the pups tp stack nice takes alot of training..of the human and the hound, LOL! A good muzzle hold helps. If you have to, put your hand right around the muzzle and firmly give a little shake and a harsh "stand" command while hanging on with the other hand under the pelvis holding that hind end in place. ;) Easier said than done! Most pups fight it so we practise everywhere.. on kitchen tables, the floor, on the washing machine, etc. for months before our first show. You know the routine...short & sweet lessons with lots of praise.

The goal is to stack the dog as square as possible with the legs set to show off a nice front and rear angulation. Always hold that head UP and push the tail up and in towards the head to shorten up the look of the back. Don't grab that tail as so many Beaglers do in AB mag. Never hang on to them by the tail either...makes 'em drop their butt and look roach backed.

I wish I could show you how I do it..and I am not that great at it either. My show friends have spent a lot of time training me stack a Beagle correctly and it makes a huge difference in the ring and in those show pictures! That is one reason why the pro has such an advantage over the novice. They simply know how to make the dog look better! Keep practising. There are a few beaglers in AB mag that do it wonderfully...the Sundown boys for one...and it really makes their dogs look superior dontcha think?

One other suggestion Beaglers, if I may? Never have your picture taken stacking a Beagle with a cigarette in your mouth...please ;) If I can give up the gum in the ring............. :)
