What to do when alpha tt10 collars are to big for the dog???

Post by wildcatfan0309 »

The collars wont tighten up enuff around the dogs neck to make a good prong to neck connection.
A big dog they will fit,but a lil dog they wont
What is everybody doing to fix this problem?
Thanks

There are 2 sets of rivets on the buckle end of the collar. Remove the set farthest from the buckle and you will gain an inch of tightness. It made a big difference for me.

You can also buy a foam pipe insulator and tape a 4 inch piece on the inside of the collar.

This works great, it's the same as most of the "small" custom collars people sell after the second rivet is gone.

Call Chuck from Plum Creek or visit his website plumcreekkennelsupplies.com. He has smaller collars and I also use the longer contact points! This combination works on 13 and under dogs nicely!!

i have also removed the rivets and this works great. Another thing that can be done is to re route the collar. I feed the strap in on the side of the reciever that is connected to the black piece that hold the antennas then up through the gps reciever. this puts the buckle on the black piece instead of between the reciever and gps . should give you two more inch. i run them on pups like this.

Use 3/4" collars instead of 1" ..They still hold the device snug and only have 1 set of rivets..They will snug down on about any beagle unless its very small. You dont have the work of removing rivets or addining foam.

You can fix it two ways use a 3/4" D Ring collar that I sell or include it if you buy the System from me, and it will make them about 1" 1/2" shorter. Or you can use the 1" D Ring collar that I sell also but it only has 1 Rivet past the D Ring and it makes it about 3/4" shorter.
